The TSM Invitational isn't the only LoL tournament this weekend, as the North American qualifiers for IPL5 also drew to a close.
The well-known but unproven Monomaniacs Ferus team has been on the up-and-up in recent months, despite not qualifying for the season two finals. Last night they took a step closer to becoming one of the big boys after defeating CLG Black in the final of the IPL5 qualifiers. Aphromoo's team had already seen-off the senior CLG team in the semi-final in a nail-biting 2-1 series.
The grand final itself was also a 2-1 for mMe, though the fact that CLG Black had previously upset Invictus Gaming earlier in the tournament was perhaps the result of the tournament. But in the third game of the series, when it really counted, mMe were the team that were able to secure the IPL 5 spot, despite having Baron stolen by an Ezreal ultimate.
Only two spots now remain for the IPL finals after last night's match. The Korean qualifiers are currently ongoing, and one more spot will be available at a live event. Monomaniacs find themselves in excellent company, alongside teams like Moscow Five, TSM and newly-crowned world champions Taipei Assassins. The tournament begins on November 29.
