Will 'The Thrill' Failla Leads WPT Legends of Poker Final Table
After four days of play in the World Poker Tour's Legends of Poker main event, the final table is set. Leading the way is poker journeyman Will "The Thrill" Failla 6,775,000 chips, or roughly 67 big blinds. Failla and the five other players will be chasing the $785k first prize later Tuesday.
Ray Henson collected $64,250 for 7th, as he became the TV final table bubble boy after getting short-stacked and shoving A,6 into Jeff Vertes' A,K, which held up.
Failla is a well established tournament pro with over $2 million in live tournament earnings but without a high profile win. 2011 has been a good year so far for Failla having won the $2k NLHE event at the 2011 PCA, cashed in the $25k WPT Championship, in addition to five WSOP cashes. Failla's biggest year was 2007 when he won the Foxwoods Poker Classic Main Event for $207k, following it up with a big score in the $300k Guaranteed Tournament in Atlantic City for an additional $218k.
The other hot player at the table is Owais Ahmed who won his first WSOP Bracelet in 2011 and followed it up with final tabling the $50k Players Championship.
All 757 entrants of the 2011 WPT Legends of Poker paid the lowered $3,500 buy-in , which allowed re-entry if you bust the first day.
