One of the tournament favourites HuK scored his first televised loss for his new team Evil Geniuses. HuK fell to ex-FXO player Andrew "Moonglade" Pender, the two putting up one of the best macro ZvP show so far in the tourney.
HuK and Moonglade played a very passive first set on Altar with the Australian taking a very safe and reactionary route, saving up a ton of money and larvae so he can counter HuK's every move. He started spending those for mass infestors as soon as he saw HuK's composition. With fungal after fungal and parasite after the next, Moonglade was soon up 1-0. However, he lost that shortly after HuK punished him with a surgical 6-gate blink stalker aggression, not forgetting to scribe "EG" with pylons.
The third set on Shattered Temple was a tough one for HuK from the start. Moonglade overlord-scouted the DT tech and a small ling attack forced a cancel on the nexus, putting Moonglade hugely ahead. Glade started applying constant roach pressure but HuK's resistance was immaculate, holding the attack perfectly and even evening the supply count. But once again the infestors and broodlords were there to slide Moonglade to victory and HuK's protoss ball just melted under zerg fire.
HuK's next game will be against Tarson and the Canadian will desperately aim for the win as a loss would possibly mean elimination from IEM altogether.
