Patrik Antonius picks up momentum since Black Friday
The first several days after the Friday DOJ announcement, there were little or no high stakes games on Full Tilt Poker. Patrik Antonius resumed playing, booking sizable wins against Gavin “gavz101″ Cochrane and Gus Hansen.
Tuesday evening Antonius and Hansen played 491 hands of HU Omaha hi/lo limit and $300/$600 PLO. Antonius won $351k against his fellow Monaco resident after an earlier $140k win to push himself into the black in 2011 after a slow start.
Monday Antonius won $232k, with the biggest loser being Cochrane who lost $260k.
Without American high stakes players in the games, the games will be sparse and irregular especially with action players like Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies have recently indicated he won't be depositing on the big sites.
It seems high visibility challenges like the Durrrr challenge and Superstar Showdown will be stalled or only feature non-American players.
High profile American players like Phil Ivey,Tom Dwan, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond, and Dan ‘jungleman12’ Cates will need to move out of the U.S. to play regularly.
Two international players who have been active include German “O Fortuna PLS” and Russian “NoPasaran” with profits of $1,224,432 and $955,031, respectively.
