Jon "pearljammer" Turner has opened a sizable lead in the $1k NLHE WSOP event after Day 2. With only 59 players from a starting field of 4,178 players, action has been at a rapid pace. Turner has 749,000 chips with second place sitting with 573,000 and the tourney average well below 200,000. Turner is no stranger to final tables having made five WSOP final tables, but will look to close this one out.

Last year's main event champion, Jonathan Duhamel has put together a good run and sits in 15th with 250,000 chips. Joining Duhamel on Day 3, Eric Mizrachi, and poker pro David Peters who is looking to better his runner-up finish in this event from the 2010 WSOP.

All 59 players are chasing the $611,185 first-place prize along with the coveted bracelet. Now that the money bubble has been broken, all remaining players are guaranteed at least $14,000 in prize-money from their $1,000 investment.
