A $22000 Pro/Am tournament sponsored by NVIDIA has been announced and will also feature casting from Day[9] and Husky.

The large tournament will last approximately 8-11 weeks with open registrations and no limit on capacity. However there will be restrictions to who can apply. For starters you'll need a US server account to register. You'll also have to be 16 years of age or older and only residents from these countries may participate:

The GSPA is open to anyone 16 years of age or older residing in any of the following countries: Canada (excluding residents residing in the Province of Quebec), China (excluding Hong Kong), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Netherlands, Norway, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States.

The event will feature group stages even for the Amateur group. The schedule has a total of 250 groups of 16 players planned. The group stages will begin on June 26th and end on July 24th with the first two players from each group advancing to the next round. The next stage should be where the professionals and amateurs are mixed up into another group stage. After this final group stage a tournament bracket will be drawn for the top two players out of their groups.

Professional players will not be invited, but will instead be chosen based upon the registration process. If you meet their criteria upon registration you will be given a pro spot.

The event will be casted by the famous Day[9] and Husky, with a new face in Andrew "andYz00m" Coonrad doing blog reports of the event the entire way. Unlike the casters however, andYz00m works for technical marketing for NVIDIA.
