Seidel Wins LAPC High Roller Event and passes Phil Ivey
Eric Seidel continued his torrid high roller event streak of 2011 by winning the L.A. Poker Classic $25k High Roller event at the Commerce casino. With the $144,570 in prize money, he passes Phil Ivey into second on the all time live tournament winnings list with $13,947,297 only $168,895 behind Daniel Negreanu.
The 51 year-old Seidel has been on a super hot streak early in 2011 having won $3,592,284 over that time. That includes five final tables, with a fourth place at the PCA High Roller, third place at the Aussie Millions $100k Challenge and winning the Aussie Millions $250k Super High Roller for $2,489,747.
The last hand of the LAPC High Roller event saw a three way all in with Seidel's AA holding against runner-up Darren Elias' AQ and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier's 99.
The event drew only 18 players for the $25k buy-in, but it was filled with talented players including Will Molson, Galen Hall, Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Zach Hyman, Rick Solomon, Masa Kagawa and Richard Lyndaker.
