Amazingly enough, the online qualifier Hungary's Attila "DodgyFish72" Gulcsik, who won his opportunity to take on Viktor "Isildur1" Blom in the Superstar Showdown in a $11 qualifier came back from being down over 10 buy-ins to lose by a single big blind. That's right, after 2,500 hands against Isildur1, "DoddyFish72" lost by only $10, when they were even the hand before.

Blom gets to up his record to 4-1 with the slimmest possible margin, after all the previous matches had much larger margins of victory or loss. Blom defeated Eugene Katchalov, Dan "jungleman12" Cates, and Tony G. while losing his first match to Isaac "philivey2694" Haxton. Blom is up over $150k in profits in his five matches.

While the format of the SuperStar Showdown remained the same-- 2,500 hands of heads-up no-limit hold'em played across four tables-- the blinds were set at $5/$10 rather than the usual $50/$100. Gulcsik was staked $15,000 for the match; he'd keep whatever remained of his challenge bankroll at the end of the session plus any profits. There was also a special $10,000 bonus at stake for either player if they managed to win their opponent's entire $15k.

Attila "DodgyFish72" Gulcsik can have great pride in this result considering he was previously a losing player online and the highest he had played was 0.50/$1 NLH and PLO. He is a recreational player who works for a pharmaceutical company who now has an incredible story to tell of taking one of the worlds best to a near draw.
