“so what you'll do is you'll make a line of Roaches, then you put the Hydras in behind them, and you make this giant wall of horror boiling towards the enemy...” - Dustin Browder
Here's some of the latest news from Blizzard. Nothing exceptional, but it's always something while we're waiting for the beta, BlizzCon and the release of Starcraft II. This is TrueBlue.
Rumors
First the latest rumors. It was said in several forums that the beta for friends and family of the staff over at Blizzard had already started. Here's your answer: That's your speculation and not fact. Next rumor going. You guys are really good at that. ;) - Xordiah. He also explains that no external beta has been launched yet, which ofcourse includes the "friends and family beta".
Dustin Browder
Dustin Browder was interviewed by IGN.com a couple of weeks ago, but the interview hasn't been in the spotlights much, a shame, as it's actually very interesting. Hmm… I don't know, we'll see what they think. That's how Dustin describes the progress of balancing the game. Basically, they try things out instead of balancing them too much, then required changes are applied through patching. So, if you one day find something you think is imbalanced, maybe they are just trying out new things to get our opinions about it, and that's how the game's neat features are developed according to Dustin. BlizzCon
The BlizzCon is getting closer and closer, starting on the 21st of August, and if you're getting shaky not knowing how to get the latest updates from the event make sure you read this. First of all, Raistlin here at GosuGamers is going to BlizzCon, and will bring you the latest headlines. Also you can view the free stream that Blizzard provides us, both in high quality and low quality, whichever suits you the most. However, if you want the latest announcements on a live stream you'll have to purchase the DirecTV Pay Per View which is open for registration now and costs about $40.
For those of you who are attending the BlizzCon, here are some contests you might want to take part in to win some nice prizes provided by Intel. If you get spotted by the Intel crew wearing an Intel badge, which you'll be handed out in the Intel booth at the event, they'll bring you back to the booth for some free merchandise. Also if you're able to guess the winner of all of the three tournaments at the event (Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft and StarCraft), you'll get a chance to win one out of two ASUS G50Vt laptops, which probably will be able to run Starcraft II on a decent enough graphics settings. You can find more information on that here.
Starcraft II Mousepads
Yes, that's right. Those mousepads, recently announced by Blizzard and Steelseries, make a top spot on my Christmas. If you also want one, check out Steelseries.com.
That's it for now. We're getting closer and closer to BlizzCon, and, if I know Blizzard, something big will definitely happen at BlizzCon. In the end remember, tomorrow's maybe just another day, but it's also one day closer to Starcraft II.
