Warzone Season 4 Patch Notes: Fortune's Keep Returns, the Monolithic Meta Dies, and Ranked Gets Tighter
Warzone Season 4 went live on June 4, 2026, and it brings more real changes than most mid-year updates. Fortune’s Keep is back with new points of interest, the old monolithic suppressor meta is being deliberately broken, cheaters are being separated into their own lobby pool, and the ranked playlist now includes a fourth resurgence map. That is a lot happening at once.

Fortune’s Keep Is Back, and It Brought New Areas
Fortune’s Keep returns with most of its original layout intact. Familiar spots like Keep, Winery, Town, Grotto, Pier, Lighthouse, Overlook, Graveyard, and Smuggler’s Cove are all present. The offshore Research Vessel is also back, and it remains the only location on the map with a UAV Tower, so controlling it still carries real strategic weight.
Three new micro POIs have been added this season:
Sea Science Aquatic Laboratory at the Bay area
Capt. Bubby’s Chum Haus between Pier and Lighthouse
Smuggler HQ near Gatehouse
These additions fill in gaps between the larger zones, giving you more places to reposition or third-party fights without crossing open ground. They are small, but they will shift where early rotations happen.
Fortune’s Keep Gets Its Own Exclusive Contract
The biggest new mechanic on the map is the Shadowlink Contract, a Recon variant that only appears on Fortune’s Keep. When your squad completes it, you get remote access to a mobile Black Market Buy Station from anywhere on the map, no need to physically reach a station.
The Black Market runs on a tier system:
Tier 1: Counter UAV, Smoke Screen, Self-Revive, Armor Box
Tier 2: Snapshot Grenade, Restock, Munitions Box, Trophy System
Tier 3: Foresight, Advanced UAV, Armor Satchel, Gas Mask
You and your squad can work Hit Lists from this station simultaneously, earning cash and unlocking higher tiers faster. This contract could become a high-priority target in competitive games, especially in ranked where information control matters most.
Ricochet Just Got Real: What the Attestation Checks Actually Do
Season 4 activates Microsoft Azure Attestation (MAA) enforcement, and it works differently from anything Ricochet has done before.
Players whose PCs fail the attestation check (which requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to be enabled) are placed into a separate matchmaking pool. They can only access Battle Royale Casual in Warzone and Nuketown 24/7 in Black Ops 7. Compliant players cannot be placed in lobbies with non-compliant ones.
The party rule is strict: if one player in your squad fails attestation, the whole party is affected. So if you are playing with friends and suddenly you are locked out of ranked or resurgence, check whether anyone in your group has TPM or Secure Boot off.
AMD users running TPM software in the 3.x.0.x range may hit a false positive. Updating your BIOS or firmware resolves it.
This is not a ban. Players can fix their settings and immediately rejoin compliant matchmaking. But the separation is permanent for anyone who cannot or does not pass the checks.
Playlists: No Trios Again, and Fortune’s Keep Gets Its Own Lobby
The playlist setup for Season 4 has already drawn criticism, and it is easy to see why.
Battle Royale offers Solos and Quads only. No Duos, no Trios.
Resurgence runs Fortune’s Keep as a dedicated playlist, separate from the Avalon and Verdansk Battle Royale rotation. There is no map rotation between Fortune’s Keep and the main BR maps.
Black Ops Royale runs Quads on Avalon only, with no Fortune’s Keep option.
Clash returns as a 52v52 mode exclusively on Verdansk, featuring endless respawns, Buy Stations, vehicle combat, and four new combat zones: Launch, Signal Station, Factory, and Airport. Grappling Hook and Wall Jump mechanics are included in Clash this season.
Haven’s Hollow also gets a weekend-only playlist added soon, details to follow.
If you main trios, there is no mode for you at launch. The game director has not given a timeline on that.
Ranked Play Changes: More Maps, Tighter Skill Brackets
Ranked Resurgence now uses all four available resurgence maps: Fortune’s Keep, Rebirth Island, Haven’s Hollow, and Rebirth Island (which stays in its winter version until the mid-season update around June 25). Lobbies support up to 48 players across 16 squads.
Matchmaking has been reconfigured to more consistently enforce intended skill brackets, reducing the gap between players in the same lobby. In practice, this means queue times could increase at higher SR ranges, but the lobbies should be more consistent skill-wise. For rank climbers, more consistent lobbies usually means more predictable SR gains and less variance from lobby to lobby.
Ranked Play restrictions for Season 4:
Grimhawk Special weapon: restricted (pending further evaluation)
Shadow Link Contract: not available in ranked
Advanced Self-Revive: restricted
Free Rewards Just for Finishing Well: Placement Challenges Explained
The new Placement Challenges system gives you points for finishing games, not just for winning. Points stack across Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Black Ops Royale, including casual playlists.
How points work:
Mode Top Placement Mid Placement Victory Battle Royale Top 20 (1 pt) Top 15 (3 pts) Win (5 pts) Resurgence Top 5 (1 pt) Top 3 (3 pts) Win (5 pts) Black Ops Royale Top 15 (1 pt) Top 10 (3 pts) Win (5 pts)Rewards unlocked by points:
1 pt: Animated Emblem
10 pts: Animated Calling Card
20 pts: Contrail
30 pts: Parachute Skin
45 pts: Animated Weapon Camo
If you play Resurgence casually and finish well, you can complete this reward track in a few sessions without forcing anything. The full 45 points from Resurgence wins alone is about nine victories, which at 10 to 12 minutes per match is roughly two to three hours of play.
Win Streak Camos Got Refreshed
Season 3 win streak camos are no longer obtainable. Season 4 brings three new sets:
Black Ops Royale:
10 wins: Primordial Streak
25 wins: Ethereal Reflection (Animated)
Battle Royale:
10 wins: Stone Sigil
25 wins: Electric Sigil (Animated)
Resurgence:
30 wins: Northern Streak
50 wins: Hellish Embers (Animated)
The 50-win Resurgence camo will be the most chased cosmetic this season. Disconnects and crashes do not have a forgiveness mechanic, so a single connection drop during a streak resets your count.
New Weapons: What Is Actually in the Game Now
KRS-7.62 (Marksman Rifle): Semi-auto, high damage, great mobility, significant first-shot recoil. Unlocked free via Battle Pass Page 3. Do not pre-judge it from the description. Fire rate and actual TTK numbers will determine whether it becomes a meta pick or gets benched fast.
CBRS-3 (SMG): Full-auto with a high-capacity rechambering magazine. Marketed as having excellent range and recoil control for an SMG. Unlocked free via Battle Pass Page 6. Range for SMGs in this game sits around 12 to 13 meters as a baseline, so “excellent range” needs to be verified in the firing range before you commit a build to it.
Two in-season weapons:
Grimhawk (Special): Full-auto, fires low-velocity homing rounds that lock onto targets. Unlocked via Weekly Challenge. Already restricted from ranked.
VX Compact (Assault Rifle): Best-in-class fire rate, excellent handling, lower range and ammo capacity. Unlocked via the Illicit Cargo Camo Event, which starts in Week 2, not at launch.
Two new attachments:
LTI Stentorian Brake (Muzzle): Reduces horizontal recoil but broadcasts your position on the enemy minimap in real time while firing. This is almost never worth it outside of very specific setups.
M10 Breacher Argus Lever: Lever-action conversion for the shotgun, faster fire rate and better pellet spread while ADS. Unlocked via Weekly Challenge.
The Monolithic Suppressor Just Got Nerfed (and Why That Changes Your Build)
Raven Software said explicitly this season that their goal is to stop every AR running the monolithic suppressor by default. The changes back that up.
For all Black Ops 7 ARs:
The base Suppressor now gives a 10% Damage Range benefit
The Recoil Suppressor no longer has a bullet velocity penalty
The Monolithic Suppressor had its velocity bonus significantly cut (from 20% down to 12%)
AK-27 specific changes:
Horizontal shake and recoil reduced in all modes (fourth recoil buff to this weapon)
Flip Mags bumped from 35 to 40 rounds
Monolithic Suppressor nerfed as above
DS20 Mirage: 8% vertical recoil reduction, same Monolithic nerf.
MXR-17: Medium damage range extended from 55m to 60m.
The practical impact is that the base Suppressor and Recoil Suppressor are now much more competitive. You might get similar or better results on many builds without defaulting to the Monolithic. Test your current AR builds in the firing range before carrying them into ranked.
Every SMG Change You Need to Know
All Black Ops 7 SMGs now gain a 10% Damage Range bonus from the base Suppressor attachment, same logic as the ARs.
Dravec 45 (buffed):
Fire rate up from 638rpm to 652rpm
Headshot multiplier up from 1.12x to 1.15x
This effectively improves the TTK when you are landing consistent headshots
Kogot-7 (nerfed):
Max damage drops from 33 to 31
Max range shrinks from 13m to 12.6m
ADS slows from 160ms to 170ms
The Kogot nerf is not massive, but the ADS slow on a weapon that lives and dies in close range matters. If you are running it in resurgence for building pushes, you will feel the 10ms difference when you round a corner.
MPC-25 (buffed):
Headshot multiplier up from 1.2x to 1.3x
ADS improved from 170ms to 165ms
REV-46 (buffed):
Range increased across all damage zones
Lower torso and leg multipliers improved from 1.0x to 1.03x
This improves TTK consistency when you are not landing perfect center-mass shots
LMGs and Shotguns: One Big Nerf, One Practical Buff
MK.78 (nerfed across the board):
Max damage: 36 down to 34
Max range: 58m down to 50m
Bullet velocity: 930 m/s down to 890 m/s
If you were running MK.78 in long-range setups, this range nerf hurts. The other two LMGs remain unchanged.
M10 Breacher (buffed):
Medium damage range extended from 7.1m to 7.8m
ADS improved from 280ms to 250ms
Full charge ADS spread improved by 10%
The faster ADS and better spread at charge make the Breacher significantly more forgiving. If you have been holding off on it because of inconsistent two-shot kills, this patch lowers that frustration.
Buy Stations, Perks, and Other Changes Worth Knowing
Buy Stations: Avalon goes from 49 to 64 Buy Stations this season. Verdansk goes from 49 to 51. Placement has been adjusted on both maps, so your usual buy routes may have changed. You will figure this out naturally in the first few games, but expect some confusion early.
Advanced Self-Revive (new Field Upgrade): Available as rare ground loot in Resurgence. When you use it, Active Camo activates automatically while you revive and stays on for 2 extra seconds after the revive completes. This gives you a brief window to reposition before enemies re-engage. It is excluded from ranked for now.
Surveyor Perk update: Nearby enemies who use a Grappling Hook now briefly appear on your minimap. If grapple play becomes widespread on Fortune’s Keep, Surveyor could move up the perk tier list.
Black Ops Royale, EMP Grenades: EMP grenades can now disable active enemy Bubble Shields. Previously, Bubble Shields had no direct counter in that mode. This changes how you approach shield-heavy squads.
Haven’s Hollow: High Value Loot Zones are now active. Two of six zones (Lumbermill, Homestead, Riverboat, Pond, Train Station, Coal Depot) are randomly selected each match.
Recon Flare behavior: In Resurgence, recon flares now persist after a capture begins and stay active until the contract ends. Train Recon Contracts still use the old behavior where flares expire on their own.
Horizontal Ascenders: The use prompt distance now matches the actual interaction distance. Small fix, but it removes the frustration of spamming interact at an ascender and getting nothing.
Zombies: Rogue Run Is the New Mode to Try
On the Zombies side, Rogue Run launches with Season 4 in the Ashes of the Damned map. It is a roguelite mode where you survive each wave, pick a reward, and teleport to the next arena. A Nuked Survival map and Totenreich Directed Mode also go live at launch.
If you play Zombies, Rogue Run is the freshest content this season and worth jumping into before the novelty wears off.
