The Poison the Medicine trial in The Outlast Trials features a hidden Classified Task that rewards players with the Golden Duck, a decorative cosmetic for their Sleep Room. To unlock it, you’ll need to locate and ping all 10 hidden ducks scattered throughout the Docks map.

None of the ducks need to be collected—simply ping each one before finishing the trial to complete the secret objective.

All Duck Locations

Donald

As soon as the trial begins:

  1. Turn right.
  2. Drop onto the lower wooden dock platforms.
  3. Look into the water on your left.

You’ll spot Donald floating below the docks.

Duck It

From Donald’s location:

  1. Continue along the lower dock area.
  2. Look left toward a small wooden boat.

Duck It is sitting beside the boat.

Seductive

After unlocking access to Laboratory Chem-Co:

  1. Face the laboratory entrance.
  2. Turn left instead of entering.
  3. Walk down the nearby staircase.

The Seductive duck is hidden behind the stairs.

Duckr. Codereview

Directly opposite the previous duck is another staircase.

Look between the steps to find Duckr. Codereview tucked underneath.

Duck Brown

Inside Laboratory Chem-Co:

  1. Enter the men’s restroom.
  2. Check the toilet bowl.

Duck Brown is waiting inside.

Tape

Later in the trial, you’ll receive the objective:

Push Cart to the Train Depot

Once you head back outside:

  1. Look toward the Angelina ship.
  2. Check the area on your right.

You’ll find Tape nearby.

Ludwig Von Duck

Stand in front of the large ANGELINA lettering on the ship.

Look down below the sign to spot Ludwig Von Duck.

Duck Norris

After entering the Train Depot:

  1. Turn left.
  2. Look down into the sewer below.

Duck Norris is hidden inside the drainage channel.

Tales

Once you’ve poisoned the medicine, the deck of the Angelina becomes accessible.

Climb aboard the ship and:

  1. Walk toward the bow.
  2. Look down into the corner beneath the front of the ship.

You’ll find Tales hiding below.

Duckr. Pepper

Remain aboard the Angelina and head toward Chemical Storage.

Instead of entering:

  1. Stay on the right-hand path.
  2. Follow the stairs leading back toward the ship.
  3. Turn right near the doorway.
  4. Look down over the side.

Duckr. Pepper can be seen floating beside the ship.

Golden Duck Reward

After pinging all ten hidden ducks during the Poison the Medicine trial, you’ll complete the secret Classified Task and unlock the Golden Duck.

The Golden Duck is a Sleep Room cosmetic that serves as proof you’ve uncovered one of Project Boneyard’s hidden secrets. Since none of the ducks carry over between runs, make sure you ping all ten before completing the trial.
