How to Get a Full Legendary Loadout in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2
In Fortnite’s latest update, players can now begin matches with a full legendary loadout, including Mythic and Exotic weapons. This is possible through the newly introduced Outlaw Key Cards, which can be upgraded to Legendary Rarity by completing specific quests.
Last week’s update introduced a community quest, rewarding all players with an Uncommon (green) Outlaw Key Card upon completion. Additional quests allow further upgrades, unlocking more perks and access to the Black Market. These quests are straightforward, requiring players to spend gold, open vaults, and eliminate guards. Each level unlocks additional rewards, with Legendary Rarity providing the most valuable benefits.
Progressing the Outlaw Key Card
Each Outlaw Key Card rarity tier unlocks different perks:
- Rare (Blue): Grants access to the Outlaw Chest at the Black Market NPC, dropping a blue weapon and gold.
- Epic (Purple): Allows the purchase of full loadouts from Black Market NPCs.
- Legendary (Gold): Unlocks the Legendary Outlaw Chest, which contains a Dill Bit, a Legendary weapon, two Big Pots, and gold.
How to Get a Mythic or Exotic Weapon Instantly (Legendary Loadout)
At Legendary Rarity, players can land at the Black Market, open the Outlaw Chest, receive a free Dill Bit, and purchase any Mythic or Exotic weapon. This allows instant access to some of the best weapons in the game.
For those looking to upgrade quickly, focusing on vault locations is key. While many players rush to open vaults using thermite or the drill item, it’s crucial to eliminate guards before opening them. This ensures completion of quest objectives that require guard eliminations.
A Less Contested POI: Armored Trucks
If vault locations are overcrowded, a great alternative is armored trucks that spawn in Second Zone. Each game features three armored trucks, acting as mini-vaults containing Mythic weapons. Many players ignore these trucks, often leaving them in the storm. Since early-game storms deal only one damage per tick, players can safely loot multiple trucks while healing with Chug Jugs found inside.
Armored trucks usually spawn south of Masked Meadows and contain multiple guards, making them a great alternative for quest progression. Eliminating guards at these locations also helps complete Outlaw Key Card quests without heavy competition.
Managing Gold for Quests and Purchases (Legendary Loadout Guide)
Some players may worry about spending large amounts of gold for these quests. However, gold is easy to obtain this season through:
- Vault loot
- Golden Llamas, which drop 1,000 gold each
- Looting the train
Even after spending 5,000 gold in a match, players can regain a significant portion simply by looting effectively.
Black Market Loadouts
At Epic Rarity, players can purchase full loadouts from Black Market NPCs, each offering different gear:
- Skillet (Crime City Black Market): Sticky Grenade Launcher, Mammoth Pistol, Kneecapper Bat, Chug Jug, and two Boons.
- Magic Mosses (Black Market): Hollow Twister AR, Pump and Dump Shotgun, Rocket Drill, Chug Jug, and two Boons.
- Kaisha (Black Market outside Masked Meadows): Falcon Eye Sniper, Outlaw Shotgun, Gold Splashes, Chug Jug, and two Boons.
While these loadouts sound strong, they cost 5,000 gold, making them less practical compared to simply purchasing individual weapons and items at a cheaper rate.
The Best Strategy for a Strong Start
The Legendary Outlaw Chest is the game-changer. Players can land at the Black Market, open the chest, get a Dill Bit, and buy their desired Mythic or Exotic weapon before anyone else. Since Mythics are limited to one per match, this strategy ensures early control of the best weapons.
Once the Legendary Key Card becomes more common, landing at the Black Market will become an essential strategy for competitive players. The Outlaw Chest can only be opened once per match, making it a high-priority location.
