Summary

    • Most weapons can be picked up automatically along the main path, but other weapons require solving puzzles and strategy
    • Don’t speed-run the puzzles so you don’t miss any weapons that you may need later on.

Cronos: The New Dawn is a dark survival horror game, and in this game, weapons are not just your tools for survival; they serve as your lifeline. The game gives you limited ammo, tight inventory space, and no chance to come back for it. That means if you miss a weapon, you won’t be able to get it again. So, you must know where each one is to avoid starting over.

Easy To Find Weapons In Cronos: The New Dawn

These two Cronos The New Dawn weapons are the easiest to find and impossible to miss. These are:

    • Sword MK-1615 (Pistol): You receive this at the start of the game; it’s weak but reliable and helps you deal with early threats. In essence, you can use it to learn the combat rhythm without wasting ammo.
    • Hammer PROV-2030 (Shotgun): Next, you’ll find this in the Housing Project after using a Time Oddity. To find it, look for a glowing box in the safe zone. This shotgun delivers more power, which makes it a strong backup when you’re surrounded.

At this stage, since you are just starting, you are still in the process of learning how the gameplay works. Essentially, both of these weapons are crucial for early progress. With these, keep the ammo stocked and practice your aim under pressure.

Mid-Game Weapons: Explore and Solve To Find Them

The next three Cronos The New Dawn weapons appear as you advance through Steelworks and Hospital Zones. These are the Mid-Game Weapons you need to find:

    • Dagger PS-3713 (Pistol): Inside Steelworks, before you get the grav boots, check the trainyard safe room. The pistol is most likely there, so make sure to grab it before you go. This pistol offers higher damage per shot and is a must-have upgrade.
    • Javelin LK-102 (Carbine): After you power the door in Sector-A0 (Hospital Zone), head into a safe zone where a workbench hides this gun. It’s accurate and works great for mid-range fights.
    • Mace JER-5120 (Double-Barrel Shotgun): In the Hospital Chapel, you have to solve the chalice puzzle during a flashback sequence. If you complete the puzzle correctly, the Mace will spawn as your reward.

These three weapons are great in terms of firepower. However, to obtain them is a bit tricky. In this phase, they will start testing your puzzle-solving skills. So, always check side rooms and pay attention to visual clues in safe zones.

Late-Game Weapon Finds: More Puzzle-Solving

The previous phase for sure has already tested your puzzle-solving skills. These last weapons require effort and another set of puzzles, but they are worth it.

    • Arbalest MT-1020 (Rocket Launcher): This weapon can be found in the tram plaza toy shop. To reach it, use bolt cutters to open the shop after solving the generator puzzle. Interestingly, this launcher is perfect for bosses or tough enemy swarms.

    • Lance REV-1411 (Carbine): This Carbine is located in the Church Abbey bell tower. To get it, you need the director’s office key, bolt cutters, and to complete several mausoleum puzzles.

These late-game weapons are easy to miss if you rush through puzzles, so take your time in completing them.
