Halo Studios brought out their Spring update for Halo Infinite. Players can expect differences in their multiplayer experience as they introduce new features in the game. This is everything to know about the Halo Infinite February 2025 update.

Operation: Frontlines – New Pass Structure and Rewards

Players should prepare for the newly introduced Operation: Frontlines in the Spring update. Following the feedback from their community, Halo Studios made changes to revamp the pass structure. Now, players can access a free 20-tier reward track throughout the game.

On the other hand, Premium Pass holders will get a hold of 50 tiers of exciting content in Halo Infinite. Priced at 1000 Credits, the Premium Pass will also include other exclusive items from weapon models and more. Some of these are the following:

  • “BR75A2 Hammer” Weapon Model
  • “Xenothreat” Weapon Coating
  • “Sequence Assembly” Charm
  • “Pattern Seeker” Visor

Meanwhile, paying 2,500 Credits will allow players to instantly unlock the first 20 tiers with all the premium content. Besides the Operation: Frontlines, Halo Studios prepared two more Operations launches in the following months. These will feature 20-tier reward tracks which are themed around their respective content:

  • Operation: Blue Team (March 11 – April 7)
  • Operation: Forerunner (April 8 – May 5)

New Weapon and Game Mode

Besides restructuring of pass, they also introduce the Fuel Rod SPNKr as a new game weapon. This serves as a hybrid power weapon that mixes elements of classic Halo weapons. It’s a Banished-made semi-automatic rocket launcher with a six-shot magazine.

Also, it has a faster fire rate than the traditional M41 Rocket Launcher which allows players to shoot quicker. However, this weapon requires direct hits to complete a one-shot kill and its projectiles arc over longer distances.

They are also bringing back the classic Assault game mode from Halo 2 to screens of Halo Infinite. This is available in both matchmaking and Custom Games so it’s free for everyone to enjoy. Assault pits two four-player teams against one another while attempting to transport and plant a bomb in an enemy base.

It’ll also have two variants for this mode such as the Neutral Bomb and One Bomb. With Neutral Bomb, there will be a single bomb placed in the center of the map. While One Bomb plays a round-based attack/defense where teams take turns in bomb possession. These are all open to play until March 11, 2025.

Major Balance Changes and Weapon Adjustments

Another change after the Halo Infinite February 2025 update is seen in multiple weapons. They decided to rework these items for balance and gameplay fairness. In MA40 Assault Rifle, they adjusted its initial shots to be more accurate yet with a larger maximum bloom during sustained fire. Further, it’ll no longer deal bonus headshot damage as well.

For Heatwave, they reduced its fire rate and made modifications to the vertical spread pattern. Other than these changes, they also decreased Shock Rifle’s aim magnetism and Stalker Rifle fire rate. Plus, they removed headshot bonus damage for CQS48 Bulldog and slowed its fire rate.

The grenade mechanics were not left untouched in this update as they also made modifications to it. They increase Frag grenade bounce and extend its throw time to align with previous Halo titles. Also, adjustments on Strafe acceleration values were completed to improve combat engagement.

Forge Improvements and Bug Fixes

Halo Infinite February 2025 update enhanced the Forge mode by equipping it with newer features. It’ll include a generic bomb object for custom game modes plus over ten new navigation marker visibility scripting nodes. They expect these to give map creators more control over object behavior and player interactions.

There are also bug fixes and technical improvements done with the Halo Infinite February 2025 update. Some of these are the improved match loading and more consistent weapon-dropping mechanics. It also included improvements to armor cores and customization items for better visuals.

Lastly, Halo Studios created a new Forge-created map that took inspiration from Halo 5’s Coliseum map called, Origin. This is not included in several matchmaking playlists like Assault, Arena Objective, and Ranked Arena. They specifically tuned this for Halo Infinite’s sandbox and updated weapon rack placements along with equipment pad locations.

Conclusion

No doubt that the Halo Infinite February 2025 update has one of the largest content drops for this title. These changes are bound to address players’ gameplay issues by improving features and providing additional content. However, some features are only available for a certain limited time only such as the pass and assault mode.
