Fortnite Weekend of Champions Update: Vaulted Items, Audio Tweaks & Power Rangers Teasers

The Fortnite Weekend of Champions update went live on Friday, celebrating the FNCS finals with several unvaulted items. However, true to its name, the event only lasted through the weekend, and all the featured items have now been removed from public matches.
Items Removed After the Weekend
Several popular items introduced in the update are no longer available:
Holo Twister AR (red-dot assault rifle)
Grapple Glove
Boom Bow
Legendary Pump Shotgun
Exotic Holo Twister
Double Trouble Exotics
While these items are vaulted from public matches, some players report they may still appear in ranked, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
The Holo Twister AR stood out as the first red-dot AR since Chapter 6 Season 2. Its removal pushes players back to bloom-based assault rifles, changing weapon meta once again. Meanwhile, the Shockwave Hammer remains in the loot pool, unaffected by this temporary event.
Audio Changes Across Key POIs
Another notable tweak arrived Friday evening, lowering audio intensity across several in-game events and POIs:
Queen bug fight zones now feature quieter background music and reduced bass.
Bunker doors have softer opening sounds, fixing a long-standing annoyance where looping audio persisted even after unlocking.
These changes improve gameplay clarity, especially in bug POIs, which were chaotic earlier this season due to medallions, heavy traffic, and loud effects. With fewer players landing there and lower bug counts, the sound adjustments now create a less overwhelming experience.
Fortnite Weekend of Champions Update Links to Power Rangers
Although this Fortnite Weekend of Champions update was brief, a downtime update is scheduled for tomorrow. The patch will include Power Rangers content, but those cosmetics are expected to release next week.
It’s likely tomorrow’s changes will mostly prepare backend files rather than bring major gameplay shifts. The real content drop should arrive alongside the Power Rangers collab.
What This Means for Players
For those who enjoyed the Holo Twister AR or Boom Bow, this update marks another shift in the meta. With key red-dot weapons vaulted and bloom-based ARs returning, players will need to adapt loadouts accordingly.
The quieter audio changes make bug POIs and bunkers less chaotic, improving overall match flow. And with a Power Rangers crossover coming soon, the next update cycle looks packed with fresh cosmetics and potential event tie-ins.
