Fortnite Season 2 “Lawless” launches this Friday, bringing an exciting mix of Subzero and Scorpion Mythics, a controversial battle pass, and hidden teasers many players may have missed. Here’s a breakdown of everything coming in this GTA-inspired season, including bank heists, new weapons, and game-changing features.

Fortnite Season 2 New Weapons and Items: Plasma Burst Rifle & Giant Drill

One of the standout additions this season is the Plasma Burst Rifle, a hybrid between the Rail Gun and Chimera Ray Gun. This weapon generates an explosive burst every few seconds, allowing players to target both opponents and vaults with ease.

Another powerful tool is the Gigantic Drill, first seen in the official teaser. The trailer confirms it’s much larger than anticipated. If its mechanics remind you of the Rocket Ram, that’s because it functions similarly. However, leaks suggest it will excel at breaking structures, making it even more destructive.

The Baron’s Mansion & Crime City

While most attention focuses on Crime City, one overlooked Point of Interest (POI) is a massive golden mansion. Inside resides Fletcher Kane, the season’s main villain. As expected, the mansion, known as The Baron’s Mansion, will replace Lost Lake on the map.

Crime City, formerly known as Crimson City, has undergone a transformation with graffiti-covered buildings and new locations like Epic Arcade, Pew Pew Pawn Shop, Hostile Hotel, and Pig & Pinch Restaurant. This POI serves as the center of the heist-heavy theme, where players will plan and execute their robberies.

New Dual-Wield & Shotgun Mechanics

Fortnite introduces a brand-new dual-wield system. The trailer showcases a character wielding both a shotgun and SMG simultaneously, suggesting a highly aggressive playstyle. Players should expect this feature to be nerfed within days due to its potential dominance.

A new double-barrel shotgun using break-action mechanics also debuts. Midas can be seen wielding it in the trailer, hinting at its potential high-powered close-range damage.

Underground Gold Mine & Heist Mechanics

A secret underground POI, the Gold Mine, provides players with more loot opportunities. This area revives grind rails and features an armory stocked with free weapons. The surrounding mountains will also be gilded, enhancing the overall gold-themed aesthetic.

For the first time, vault entry requires explosive Melonite, a thermite-like material that melts doors and walls. This mechanic, inspired by Rainbow Six Siege and Payday, significantly alters how players interact with secured areas.

Mortal Kombat Collaboration: Subzero & Scorpion

Fortnite’s long-awaited Mortal Kombat collaboration finally arrives this season. Subzero joins the battle pass with ice-based Mythics, including the Ice Gauntlets, which grant enhanced mobility and a spear ability.

Later in the month, Scorpion enters the game with his Spear Hook Mythic, featuring the classic “Get Over Here” sound effect. This crossover brings two iconic characters to Fortnite’s chaotic battlefield.

Fortnite Season 2 Major Map & Vehicle Updates

The infamous train system finally receives an update, allowing players to enter its carriages by blasting open the roof. A vault packed with loot awaits inside, but multiple turrets now defend the train, increasing its risk.

Armored vans transport gold between businesses, offering players another robbery target. Players can breach these vans using Melonite, gaining access to both gold and weapons. Some vans also contain an exclusive Medallion linked to Big Dill, though its exact purpose remains unknown.

Additionally, two new vehicle collaborations arrive: the Shelby GT500 and the Dodge Ram, marking Fortnite’s first official Ford crossover. A new gold-covered sports car also appears outside The Baron’s Mansion, resembling the Rocket League Komodo.

Fast & Furious, Yakuza, and More Crossovers

The Fast & Furious collaboration expands beyond vehicles. Dom and Han arrive as playable characters, alongside a brand-new Mustang. This crossover perfectly fits the crime and heist theme.

The Yakuza crossover introduces Kiru and Majima, two characters from the Yakuza franchise, aligning with the season’s mafia and criminal empire aesthetic.

Returning Items & Game Modes

Several vaulted weapons make a comeback, including the Sticky Grenade Launcher and Combat SMG. Additionally, the Mammoth Pistol, held by Midas in promotional images, divides fans due to its controversial power levels.

A remixed version of the Getaway LTM also returns, featuring zero build and ranked support. Though first-person mode remains unconfirmed, it would add another layer of strategy to the mode.
