Love mining or hate it in Monster Wilds, you’ll eventually come to terms with working hard to get ores like the Firestone. While it’s frustratingly rare, you’ll need a lot to craft valuable weapons and armor as well as charms in the game. Finding it is naturally hard if you don’t know where to look. So let’s walk you through a guide on where to find it and how to get it.

What is Firestone?

Firestone is described as an ore that is scorching hot even at room temperature, and can be used to fuse various materials. This rarity 4 Equipment Material is undeniably crucial to get you through earlier stages, as a lot of Low Rank weapons and armor need it for its extraordinary heat. It also has a selling price of 860z, so if you ever get lucky in mining and have extra, you can sell them for more money.

Where to Get Firestone in Monster Hunter Wilds?

While most materials in the game can be found across different locations or exist in abundance in one region, Firestone is neither of the two. It can only be found in specific areas of the Oilwell Basin, so don’t waste time trying to search the Plains or Forest for it. Additionally, the mining outcrops in the Oilwell Basin only yield three random gems when you mine it. So, if you’re unlucky, you may just mine every single outcrop and still not find one Firestone.

For the best chances of mining a Firestone, head to these areas in the Oilwell Basin:

  • Area 6 and Area 7 (above ground)
  • Areas 13, 16, and 17 (deep in the Basin’s core)

However, Areas 13, 16, and 17 are only recommended for exploration for higher-ranked players, as you’ll need Cold Drinks to survive the heat there. For beginners, mining Areas 6 and 7 would be more practical.

How to Use the Filter

  2. Scroll down until you find the Mining Outcrop icon and select it.

How to Mine the Outcrops

  1. Approach the Mining Outcrop
  2. Interact with it to break it open. You’ll be able to collect three random ores from each outcrop.
  3. When you successfully collect a Firestone, your hunter will make a special animation, holding the Firestone above their head to celebrate finding it.
  4. After mining, the outcrops will have a cool down of 15-30 minutes before they respawn. Wait for it or enter a mission to reset the time.
