Marathon Update 1.1.0.3 Patch Notes: Compiler Reward Bug Fixed, KKV-9SD Smoother, and More
Bungie pushed Marathon Update 1.1.0.3 live on June 23, 2026, and it is a patch that a lot of players have been waiting on since Season 2 kicked off. The update went live across all platforms following a short maintenance window. On console, players will see it listed as Update 1.022.

But the fixes inside it directly affect how you farm rewards on Cryo Archive, how the KKV-9SD feels in combat, and whether Ranked is actually fair right now. If you have been grinding Compiler runs and getting nothing from Cyber Acme, this patch is the reason why, and it is now fixed.
Here is every confirmed change, straight from the official Bungie patch notes.
The Compiler Ganglion Bug Was Robbing Players of Their Best Rewards
This one hurts. Since the launch of Season 2, defeating the Compiler boss on Cryo Archive and turning in the Compiler Ganglion to Cyber Acme was supposed to unlock a dedicated barter section with rotating high-end rewards. Gold backpacks, gold shields, gold weapon mods, all on a daily cycle.
It was not working. The barter section simply did not populate, and many players, not knowing it was a bug, deleted their Ganglions thinking they were useless or locked behind a requirement they had not met.
Bungie confirmed the fix in the official 1.1.0.3 patch notes: “Fixed an issue where barter options were not populating for the Compiler Ganglion.”
If you still have Ganglions sitting in storage, boot up the game now and check Cyber Acme. The shop rotation changes daily, so do not sleep on it.
KKV-9SD Firing Glitch Is Gone, But the Damage Is Still the Same
The KKV-9SD had a frustrating issue where it would randomly stop firing while you held down the trigger. Bungie’s patch notes called it a controller-specific issue, but players confirmed it was happening on mouse and keyboard too. You would go to spray someone down and the gun would just stall for a split second before firing, making it feel inconsistent and unreliable in a game where every bullet matters.
That is now fixed. The KKV-9SD should fire as expected from the moment you hold the trigger.
One thing to note: this patch does not include any damage buffs or stat changes for the KKV-9SD. It was being marketed as a counter to the Mizu Rai playstyle, and the community has been vocal about it underperforming in that role. Bungie appears to be watching the meta before pulling the trigger on balance changes. For now, the weapon should at least feel consistent to use.
MIDA Capstone Reworked: Two Minutes of Free Anti-Virus Is Actually Good
If you have maxed out MIDA, the final Capstone upgrade has been changed. It no longer grants a Cardio Kick at the start of a run. It now provides ANTI_VIRUS.EXE, giving you two full minutes of Anti-Virus protection from the moment a run begins.
Why does this matter? The old Cardio Kick did not stack with the Dexterity track perk, which also grants Cardio Kick at run start. So if you had both, you were wasting a Capstone slot and getting zero extra benefit. The swap to ANTI_VIRUS.EXE removes that dead overlap and actually gives MIDA mains something worth building toward again.
VIP Upgrade Costs Got Swapped for Arachne and Sekiguchi
Bungie swapped the upgrade costs for Arachne and Sekiguchi VIP tiers. Synapse Cubes can now be used for certain upgrades that previously required prestige salvageables.
This is a quality-of-life improvement for players who have been stockpiling Synapse Cubes and hitting dead ends in the VIP upgrade tree. Check your current resource inventory before spending anything, because which upgrades changed cost may affect your next purchase order.
Ranked Solo Queue Is Gone from Perimeter (It Was Never Supposed to Be There)
If you saw a Solo queue option in Ranked on Perimeter and tried it, Bungie wants you to know that was a bug, not a feature. The fix is in this patch: “Fixed an issue where Solo queue was selectable on Ranked.”
The developer note is explicit. Ranked in Marathon is designed for crews of all sizes queuing into the same matches, the same format as Season 1. Solo Ranked was never intended, and Bungie said it also did not function the way players expected when selected. It has been removed.
Reverbs Were Not Spawning in Night Dire Marsh, Contracts Were Suffering
A number of players grinding contracts that required killing anomalous Reverbs hit a wall because the enemies simply were not showing up consistently in standard Night Marsh. This patch addresses that directly: “Fixed an issue that was preventing Reverbs from spawning consistently on standard Night Marsh.”
If you have been stuck on a Reverb contract, head back into Dire Marsh and the spawns should now be reliable.
Cryo Archive Sponsor Kit Fix and Server Stability
Two smaller items round out the patch:
The Cryo Archive sponsored kit can now be taken into Cryo Archive properly, fixing an entry issue that affected some players at Season 2 launch.
Bungie fixed several server stability issues in the background.
No specific details were given on the stability fixes, but consistent server issues have been a pain point for the community throughout Season 2.
