While some players can customize various weapons thanks to the Gunsmith, the pistol is locked at level one. Despite the lack of customization, the X13 auto still packs a deadly punch and is the perfect crutch to fall back on if you find yourself in a sticky situation during a match.
This pistol may serve as a more than adequate backup firearm when your primary weapon is unavailable due to its faster rate of fire than the regular X12. The X13 Auto frequently seems more like a high-performance tool in its own right than a secondary weapon due to its exceptionally fast rate of fire—especially for a handgun. The X13 can stand alone as a worthy weapon to bring into any match by fully using Modern Warfare 2’s quick TTK.
Overview
The X13 Auto comes with a fully-automatic firing mechanism capable of dominating close-quarters combat. Due to its sub-weapon classification, it may be used in any loadout that isn’t centered around the Overkill perk. The X13 Auto is a solid, trustworthy option if you don’t want to use a perk slot on Overkill to carry along a second primary weapon.

Close Range
At any range short of 7.5 meters, the X13 auto will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill.
Medium Range
It has a four-shot kill range of ten meters. Headshots will deal an additional 40% damage. A headshot will generally reduce the number of shots needed to kill by one up close, although at least three headshots are needed to reduce the number of shots needed to kill at medium range and beyond.
Long Range
Damage decreases linearly until 12.5 meters. At any range past 12.5 meters, it will deal twenty damage per bullet, needing five shots to kill.
Design
The design is based on a real-life Glock 18. The Glock 18 is a full-sized automatic pistol chambered in 9mm that is capable of 1,200 rounds per minute. It is a fully-automatic version of the Glock 17. This pistol was developed by the Austrian Glock company, headed by Gaston Glock. Some sources report that this pistol was developed to meet the requirements of the EKO Cobra, an Austrian counter-terrorist unit. Other sources claim that the pistol was designed to increase the appeal of the gun to military and police markets.
Stats
The X13 is an automatic pistol that can carry up to 24 rounds and has a very high rate of fire. Also, the X13 has high recoil control at the exchange of low damage and range. This automatic pistol is recommended at very close ranges as the recoil can be punishing, and players can dump the magazine in a second.
Damage
The X13 auto’s damage profile is one of the weaker aspects of the weapon. The X13 auto has low penetration power. In addition to poor damage, the X13 auto performs poorly through walls.
Fire Rate
The X13 auto’s biggest strength is its rate of fire. The X13 auto is tied with the Vector for the fastest default rate of fire of any weapon in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, firing at 1111 RPM. This rate of fire more than offsets the X13 auto’s damage deficiency and gives the X13 auto a great damage output. The only weapons that can surpass the X13 auto’s rate of fire are certain SMGs. The X13 auto fires significantly faster than any other machine pistol.
Accuracy
The X13 auto’s biggest weakness is its accuracy. The iron sights are perfectly clean, but the recoil makes the X13 auto borderline unusable at medium range and beyond. The X13 auto not only has the largest recoil per shot of any machine pistol, but it also has one of the most hostile recoil profiles in the game.
Mobility
The X13 auto’s handling characteristics are overall good, as is to be expected for a machine pistol. The X13 auto allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 80% of the base movement speed.
Magazine
A major strength of the X13 auto is its magazine capacity. The X13 auto has, by a significant margin, the largest magazine capacity of any machine pistol, holding 24 rounds per magazine, 60% larger than the next largest capacity machine pistol in its class.
How To Unlock The X13 Auto
You can unlock guns in the Modern Warfare 2 beta by equipping various firearms from the Loadout menu and leveling them up. In Modern Warfare 2’s Gunsmith 2.0.
Like several weapons in Modern Warfare 2, the X13 auto is part of a new weapon progression tree. You’ll need to rank up your progression level to 12 in order to get your hands on the handgun. Play matches, complete objectives and net kills to earn XP and climb your way to rank 12.

Blueprints For The X13 Auto
The Rare X13 blueprint, or Side Impact blueprint, is one of the exclusive Beta Rewards in Modern Warfare 2. Equipping this blueprint gives your pistol an impressive look, but many of the players are confused about how to equip the blueprint. Well, the process is not at all difficult, except for one requirement: you have to reach level 15 in the beta. You need 87,500 XP. You can unlock the X13 Auto once you reach this rank.
To get the rare X13 blueprint or Side Impact Blueprint in the Modern Warfare 2 beta will require some of the following steps:
- Click on the ‘Weapon’ on the top of your screen.
- On the next window, click on the Loadout
- Select X13 Auto from the Secondary Weapon Slot
- You’ll get the X13 Side Impact blueprint there.
- Click on the equip option to equip it.
That’s all you need to do to get the RARE X13 Beta blueprint. The Side Impact or Rare blueprints will provide a new skin as well as new attachments such as stock, red eye optic, and underbarrel. Later, you’ll get the option to customise it further.
The only blueprints currently available are legendary blueprints exclusive to the Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta. Players got to get their hands on the Frontal Impact Legendary Blueprint for the TAQ-56 and the Side Impact Blueprint for the X13 Auto.
Weapons Platform
X13 is part of the XRK platform. A Weapon Platform groups a small selection of guns together to form a weapon family. Guns on the same platform will share unlocks, which means you’ll unlock attachments for a variety of weapons rather than the one you’re using.
Attachments
The MW2 beta has not yet allowed players to unlock attachments for the X13 auto, unless you use the default class, which is by no means bad. If you want to get to grips with the X13 auto class, the default is the best way to go.
However, when the time comes for attachments to be available on the best MW2 X13 auto class, the main options that you’ll want to increase are the accuracy and handling characteristics.
Recommended Perks
- Extra Tactical
- Battle Hardened
Extra Tactical
Tactical Equipment is an important part of any loadout, and it becomes even more crucial for the X13 Auto. Having more options will help to outplay opponents relying on specialised main weapons, and having more uses for your gear will help even the odds.
Battle Hardened
This perk can be invaluable in Modern Warfare 2, helping to lessen the impact when explosives and other tactical gear are used against you. This can help when moving from point to point, but it also reduces your chances of being wiped out when the enemy is advancing on your position.
Alternative Perks
- Basic: Overkill
- Bonus: Focus
- Ultimate: Hardline
- Spotter
- Double Time (Base)
Recommended Tactical Equipment
- Lethal: Tear Gas
- Tactical: Flash Grenade
Tear Gas
Tear Gas will hamper and slow your opponents, placing them in an incredibly vulnerable state, making them easy targets for the X13 Auto.
Flash Grenade
Keeping your opponents dazed and blinded will throw off an impending assault and give you the chance you need to turn the tables.
Alternative Tactical Equipment
- Frag Grenade
- Thermite
- Flash Grenade
- Medical Syringe
- Shock Stick
Alternative for X13 Auto
If you think the X13 Auto doesn’t quite cut it for you and you want to have a grip on a more accurate handgun, X12 will be the best fit. The X12 fills a specific niche in Modern Warfare 2, with reliable accuracy and top-tier recoil control. Its damage potential is outstripped by most other weapons in the game, but that’s not to say that the X12 is useless in the damage department. The X12’s semi-auto fire still allows you to cut through opponents with the right setup.
