However, acquiring the Deviant is no simple task and involves farming mushrooms for a chance to get a Growshroom. Here’s how to get the Growshroom in Once Human
How to get Growshrooms in Once Human
To get a Growshroom in Once Human, you’ll need to farm mushrooms, either out in the open world or from growing them at your base. These small toe-capped mushrooms tend to grow in darker, shaded areas around the map, notably in forests and in caves. The Deviant drop is randomised so it is guaranteed. All you need to do is harvest the mushrooms and eventually you’ll get a Growshroom. Every time you pick a mushroom up, you will have a small chance to get a Growshroom. It took us roughly 40 mushrooms to get our first Growshroom so the drop chance is quite low.

The best place to farm Growshrooms is in an area colloquially referred to by players as The Mushroom Cave. It’s located not far from Sunbury. This location, as you can imagine, is full of mushrooms that respawn extremely quickly. The cave has the following coordinates:
- 4644, -7070
- 4813, -7066
- 4906, -7073
You can access the cave from the south of Sunbury, or via a cliff entrance guarded by Vulture enemies. The eastern side is beside the main road going into Sunbury. Sunbury is in the south of the Broken Delta region. It’s next to the large lake near the border with Chalk Peak.
When inside, you’ll find mushrooms near the pools of water and along the rocky paths. The cave goes on for a while and there are roughly 30 spawns to pick up per visit. The mushrooms respawn quickly, so you can keep running end to end and continuously farm mushrooms.
How to use a Growshroom
To use a Growshroom, you’ll need to place it inside an Incubation Chamber in your base as you would any other deviant. Once inside, they’ll begin to walk around your base. They’ll root out any fully grown crops and plant seeds you give them.
There is no built-in filter to stop the Growshrooms from harvesting flowers and crops you’re growing. This is a problem if you’re also using deviants such as Buzzy Bees. This will affect the mood of those deviants. The best recommendation we have is to set the Mushroom’’s power requirement to be as high as possible. This limits how often they appear and affect your Buzzy Bees, giving the latter time to restore their mood between Growshroom harvests.
When setting up your Growshroom’s new home, they’ll need mood modifiers to be more efficient:
