Looking for how to play the MW3 beta on Xbox, you’ve come to the right place. Following a weekend of PlayStation exclusivity, it’s now Xbox players’ turn to join the Modern Warfare 3 beta. The beta will be accessible on both Xbox One and Series X|S starting from Thursday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. ET.

So if you’re gearing up to dive into the second weekend beta, make sure to check our MW3 beta start times to ensure you’re all set to play on your Xbox console or PC. You should also check whether the MW3 beta will have Nvidia’s DLSS for an enhanced experience. With that said, here’s how to play MW3 beta on Xbox.

How to play MW3 beta on Xbox

To get started, make sure you have the COD HQ app installed on your Xbox. If you’ve been playing Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone recently, you should already have it. However, if you don’t have any Call of Duty games on your Xbox, you can head to the Microsoft Store on your console and download the free COD HQ app.

This provides you with access to the main launcher, where you’ll launch MW3 once the second weekend beta becomes available to you. Now, about the beta, you can also get the MW3 Beta Pack files from the Microsoft Store at around 28GB. You can download these files right away, whether you pre-ordered the game or not. After they’ve finished downloading, you’ll see a new MW3 Beta tab in the main lobby screen of COD HQ.

When you click on the MW3 beta tab, you’ll receive a message indicating that the beta isn’t available yet. However, if you redeemed a beta code through Xbox, you might also see a screen showcasing the Vault Edition of MW3. Rest assured, the beta tab will become accessible and launch the actual beta when it goes live on October 12 if you either pre-ordered any edition of MW3 or redeemed a beta code.

If you haven’t done either, you’ll need to wait a few more days to play, at which point the beta tab will become accessible. And if you didn’t pre-order or you’re unable to redeem a code, you’ll have to wait until Sunday, October 15 to access the early access beta. For now, be sure to keep an eye on our Modern Warfare 3 release date which goes over all available editions that you can buy.
