How to save Alfira as the Dark Urge in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you are playing a Dark Urge playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3, you willultimately kill Alfira if she goes to camp with you when you take a long rest. This happens as part of the quest after you save the Emerald Grove from the goblins and start the transition to Act Two.

Luckily, this encounter does not need to lead to Alfira’s death as players have discovered a cunning way of keeping her alive so she can share her bardic aspirations and musical proficiency with the world.

To prevent Alfira from dying, you need to turn on non-lethal damage in your passives menu. This makes it so you can’t kill characters with your weapons. Once non-lethal combat is turned on, find Alfira in Druid Grove before the celebration starts. After locating her, knock her unconscious. This will protect her from any harm besides a bump on the head.

After knocking her unconscious, head to the party at your camp. You will see everyone there but Alfira. The lute-playing Tiefling will be replaced with a Dragonborn named Quil Grootslang who is seeking refuge at your camp.

That night, instead of taking Alfira’s life, Quil will be the one to meet the gruesome fate. The next morning, you will wake up knowing that you are the cause of Quil’s death. This turn of events doesn’t change your adventure much and doesn’t really alter the course of the plot.

One of the many tasks you can complete in Baldur’s Gate 3 is to save all of the Tieflings. Doing this requires you to rescue all the Tieflings from the first act of the story as well as the other acts. This will get you the Potent Robe which is excellent armor for a bard. This is because it increases your cantrip damage.

If you interact with Alfira in the correct way when speaking to her at the Druid’s Grove, you can help her finish her song called Weeping Dawn. You even get a cutscene where she plays the entire song.

Because of this, it is better to keep Alfira alive as well as her friend Lakrissa. With Alfira alive, you will have a second meeting at Last Light Inn on your way to Moonrise Towers.
