The Helldivers 2 Rescue Science Teams are tough, and might even seem impossible if you’re not playing in a coordinated group. Not only are you fighting off enemy units, but you also have to protect a group of civilians too. Escort missions aren’t usually players’ cup of tea, so we’re here with some help to get you completing those Rescue Science Team missions.

How to Rescue Science Teams in Helldivers 2

Rescue Science Teams missions will see you escorting groups of civilians from one building to another, all while keeping them safe from hordes of attacking enemies. You’ll need to be highly aware of your surroundings, making sure no enemies get close to the civilians, all while keeping yourself safe too.

Once you reach the location of the mission, you’ll see two buildings. Head to one with a button on the side, and press it to release a group of three civilians. They will start running towards the other building, at which point enemies will attempt to kill them. To complete the mission, you need to rescue a certain number of these civilians.

Most of the time, civilians will die in one hit, and two hits at most, so you need to make sure there are no enemies anywhere near them. Have your squad watching every direction, calling out enemies when you see them, and regularly check your map to see where they come from.

Another great way to make things easier is using area controlling stratagems. Airstrikes, mines, and sentry turrets can be a great way of clearing out an entire area of enemies, leaving you free to focus on more imminent threats – just make sure they’re far enough away from your civilians.

Lastly, you’ll want to time when you let the civilians through. If you just repeatedly spam the button, you might let the civilians out in the middle of a wave, dooming them. Wait for a lull between waves, and let them out then to get them as far as possible before the enemies arrive.
