Zhongli’s Ascension and Talent materials can be a bit of a pain to gather in Genshin Impact. Zhongli is a five-star Geo character who has one of the best Shields in the game, making him a tremendously useful addition to every team he’s in.

To that end, you’ll want to invest in Zhongli as much as possible to get the most out of his kit. Everything you need to gather to Ascend Zhongli and level his Talents can be farmed in and around Liyue, which makes him great for anyone who is in the early-game areas still.

Zhongli Ascension materials

Zhongli Ascension materials can all be found in Liyue. For Zhongli, you will need to gather Cor Lapis, Prithiva Topaz crystals, and the materials dropped by Slimes. The Basalt Pillar can be farmed from the Geo Hypostasis World Boss in Liyue.

Where to find Cor Lapis

Cor Lapis is a Local Specialty in Liyue and you can spot it fairly easily as a small chunk of orange-looking ore. This typically grows on mountains or near rocks. The best way to collect the most Cor Lapis is by heading to Mount Hulao. There are several Cor Lapis locations there, so make your way down from the top.

Use Yanfei to track Cor Lapis

The four-star character Yanfei is extremelyt useful when looking for Liyue-specific materials thanks to her passive Talent. When Yanfei is in your party, your mini-map will display the location of nearby resources unique to Liyue. Since Cor Lapis is one such material, and not an ore, she will be super helpful when tracking it down.

Zhongli Talent Materials

As with every character in Genshin Impact, Zhongli has three Talents that you can level up. Each Talent requires the same amount of materials to get from level one to ten. To get all three Talents fully upgraded, you will need three times the materials. Use this table below to find out exactly what Zhongli Talent materials you will need to fully level one Talent.

Zhongli’s Talent Books, the Teachings of Gold, can be farmed from the Taishan Mansion Domain on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Tusk of Monoceros Caeli can be gathered by defeating Childe in the weekly Trounce Domain, Enter the Golden House. To fully upgrade one of Zhongli’s Talents, you will need all of these materials.

With all of those things collected, you will be able to level and Ascend Zhongli and get his Talents upgraded. Doing all three Talents to level ten is known as Triple-Crowning your characters, and we only recommend doing this with your absolute favourites that you use all the time. Zhongli has the best shield in the game, which means you should definitely consider getting his Skill to level 10 since you will probably end up relying on him so much.
