But if your takeaway from the fight was “hey I wish I could use his gross tentacle blade” then have I got good news for you – you can!
And not only can you get it for yourself, it comes with the Taker’s Flames Ash of War, an incredibly powerful attack that steals health from the enemies you use it against. So if that all sounds good to you, we’re here to take you through exactly how to get the Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring.

The Blasphemous Blade requires 22 Str, 15 Dex and 21 Fai to wield. It scales best with Faith, making it an ideal weapon for a Strenght and Faith combined build. While it does decent damage, its true best characteristic is the Taker’s Flames weapon skill.
Taker’s Flames Ash of War explained
The Taker’s Flames Ash of War lets you restore your own HP after hitting an enemy with the attack. Each hit will heal you for 10% of your maximum HP, plus a flat 150 HP, meaning the more damage you can deal, the more you heal in return. The weapon does Fire damage, so hitting any enemies weak to Fire will net you a huge amount of HP in return.
A great strategy with this weapon is to combine it with the Mimic Tear summon. Not only will you be able to heal the health it takes to summon the Mimic Tear, but your summon will be able to keep themselves alive for longer by using the Ash of War – it’s a win/win!
You can trade the Remembrance you get from Rykard for the Blade. Image captured by VideoGamerWhere to get the Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring
You can only get the Blasphemous Blade once you’ve defeated one of the mid-game bosses Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, at which point you’ll be rewarded with the Great Remembrance of the Blasphemous. Next, head to the Roundtable Hold and talk to Enia in the room behind the table. You can trade the Remembrance to her for the Blasphemous Blade.
If this is your first time doing this, you won’t be able to get another Remembrance until NG+, meaning you’ll miss out on earning Rykard’s Rancor. But if you’re planning on any further playthroughs, that shouldn’t be too much of a worry.
