What is Tempest Roar in Diablo 4?
Tempest Roar is a Unique Druid helm in Diablo 4 that players can obtain at Nightmare difficulty or higher. It makes your Storm Skills Werewolf Skills. This item is exclusive to the Druid. Clear Diablo 4 Capstone Dungeons like the Cathedral of Night to reach higher difficulties. Amping it up to World Tier 4 Torment Difficulty improves your odds of finding Unique and legendary items as you face increasingly resilient foes in Diablo 4.
Getting the Tempest Roar unique helm and its legendary aspects via the random loot system comes down to sheer RNG luck in the game world.
Here’s the official in-game item description: “Listen, child, to the music of the storm. It has its own rhythm. Its own melody. Hear how beautifully it sings, and perhaps one day you will be able to join in its harmony. – Airidah”
Here are the Legendary and Unique affixes you can find on a Tempest Helm in Diablo 4 Season 1:
- Unique – Lucky Hit: Storm Skills have up to a [15 – 25%] chance to grant 4 Spirit. Your base Storm Skills are now also Werewolf Skills.
- Legendary – + [1.0 – 17.5]% Damage while Shapeshifted
- Legendary – + [1.0 – 17.5]% Critical Strike Damage
- Legendary – + [3 – 13] Maximum Spirit
- Legendary – + [4.5 – 45.5]% Poison Resistance
Why should you get Tempest Roar in Diablo 4?
This unique helm grants powerful buffs to your character. Legendary bonuses like granting extra Life on an enemy kill and poison resistance can greatly improve your odds of survival. Poison damage over time can be particularly nasty, especially on World Tier 4 Torment difficulty. Bonus damage while using shapeshifting skills and an increase in Spirit resources are solid boosts to your Core skills. This means that you can deal more damage and crank out more spells before resorting to basic lightning damage.
On top of that, Tempest Roar’s Unique affix can give your Storm skills a serious boost. While this does favour the Storm Druid and Tornado Druid playstyles, it’s potent enough to make you seriously consider switching builds. And since Tempest Roar turns your base Storm Skills into Werewolf Skills, bonuses that usually apply to the latter will apply to your Storm Skills too.
A quick look at the Diablo 4 Druid skill tree shows that Werewolf passives like the poisoning Toxic Claws will also apply to skills like Storm Strike. This boosts your critical strike damage and lets you tackle higher difficulty settings with the Diablo 4 Tempest Roar helm. Season 2 promises to drastically improve the chance of getting unique items like these.
Start running through Nightmare Dungeons with Nightmare Sigils, tackling Helltide events, and completing Whispers of the Dead requests to begin the grind towards Unique items after the main campaign. While your odds are low, working towards obtaining Tempest Roar will itself grant your character some rare items in the endgame. It might be worth pairing this Unique item with Jewellery that can accommodate Diablo 4 Malignant Hearts in Season 1.
