Contents hide Where to find Silk in Black Myth: Wukong What is Silk used for? ✓ At a glance
  • Silk is a general armour upgrade material in Black Myth: Wukong which you can get as a drop by defeating enemies, from secret chests, or buying it from the shop.
  • Chapter 2 is one of the best places to farm Silk in the game, with many smaller mobs being able to drop it when defeated. You can then reset at a Shrine and farm the same enemies again.

To progress further through Black Myth: Wukong, you will have to upgrade your equipment along the way. This will mostly be your trusty staff, as well as your armour. As expected, you’ll need to gather materials to do so, with some being more common or rare than others. One of the vital parts of your armour upgrades will be getting enough Silk along your journey.

Where to find Silk in Black Myth: Wukong

There are three ways to get Silk in Black Myth: Wukong – by finding it randomly in chests, by defeating enemies, and by purchasing it from the store. Note that bosses don’t usually drop Silk, as their drops are reserved for some of the rarer materials.

Silk is not too uncommon to get, and you should start seeing it from Chapter 2 and onwards. In fact, Chapter 2 is arguably the best place to farm for Silk in the game. It can drop from most common mobs in this zone, especially from smaller ones like rat-like foot soldiers. More “elite” enemies can also drop Silk, but not quite at the same rate.

✓ Pro tip

You can rest at a nearby Shrine to let the small mobs respawn, thus giving you a chance to return and farm up more Silk and other mats.

Next, you can find Silk randomly by finding and opening chests. This is not guaranteed and you will find other items there too, so it’s not the best way to farm it. Still, it goes without saying that you should open any chests you find, since all materials are useful.

Lastly, you can buy and sell Silk in the shop whenever you visit a Shrine. We don’t recommend selling Silk, since Will is easier to get than materials. You can buy two at a time, for 600 Will each. Therefore, you should always buy it when you see it, because it will be useful down the line, even if you don’t need it right away.

What is Silk used for?

Silk is one of the core materials used to upgrade your armour in Black Myth: Wukong. You will be using it throughout the game, along with other upgrade materials, like Yarn. Almost every armour in the game uses some amount of Silk to craft and upgrade, so it’s best to stock up. Also, note that you can’t disassemble armour once you craft it, so make sure it belongs to the set you’re looking for before investing your resources.
