These are typically unique weapons, meaning they offer special buffs and attributes that you won’t find on common weapons.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the best early game weapons in Avowed we’ve come across so far and explain how to get them. In the spirit of catering to different playstyles, we’ve pulled together a list that includes various weapon types.

Anextli’s Grimoire is a unique Fine Quality spell book that allows you to use the Fan of Flames and Arcane Veil spells at level 1, then the Grimoire Snap and Missile Salvo at level 5 and 10, respectively. However, the real pull here is a -42% discount to ability costs and -25% to cooldowns, which you simply won’t get from Common Quality Grimoires.
You’ll find this one on a cliff just above Berath’s Gateway in the west of Dawnshore. From the graveyard, go southwest into the Fractured Shore, then leap across the gap on your left and follow the path up the hill until you hear a dialogue line from the Crazed Pyromancer. After hearing an explosion, head to the edge of the cliff to find Anextli’s Grimoire.

Drawn in Winter is a unique Fine Quality one-handed axe that boasts two unique buffs. Rising Chill makes power attacks deal moderate frost damage to nearby enemies, while Freezing Lash makes every hit deal +10% frost damage. It also has solid 54 physical damage, 56 stun, and 6% critical hit chance.
To get the Drawn in Winter, you’ll need to complete the Ancient Memory in Watcher’s Mirror in the northeast of Dawnshore. After the memory, pick up the weapon from the pedestal at the center of the arena then defeat the enemies that spawn.

The Philosopher’s Riddle is a unique Fine Quality two-handed sword that dishes out 81 physical damage, 80 stun, and 3% critical hit chance. Alongside, it has the Aggressive Debate buff that gives you 15% attack speed for 10 seconds whenever you pull off a full combo attack. Lastly, Poison Lash gives every hit +10% bonus poison damage.
To get The Philosopher’s Riddle, You’ll need to climb to the very top of Castol’s Folly, the island in the southeast of Dawnshore. It’s in the area on the western side of the island. Climb up the scaffolding and ledges to reach the top where you’ll find the weapon planted in the ground near a bunch of pink mushrooms.

Caeroc’s Pride is a unique Fine Quality one-handed gun that produces 69 physical damage, 80 stun, and 3% critical hit chance. Its unique buffs are Distant Thunder, which makes every power attack deal high shock accumulation, and Shocking Lash, which add +10% bonus shock damage to every hit.
To get the Caeroc’s Pride, you’ll need to defeat Tempestuous Luandi (one of the bounties in Dawnshore) on the small island to the west of Castol’s Folly. After he’s dead, loot his body to find the gun.

Last Light of Day is a unique Fine Quality one-handed sword that deals 48 physical damage, 40 stun, and 3% critical hit chance. Alongside, its unique attributes include Golden Sun’s Ascent, a buff that restores 3% of your maximum health whenever you kill an enemy. There’s also Dawn’s Remembrance, which grants +10 bonus fire damage to every hit.
To get the Last Light of Day, you’ll need to choose to fight Sargamis during the Dawntreader side quest in the Eothasian Temple in the north of Dawnshore. Refuse to insert the relic into the statue and he’ll attack you. Loot his body once you’ve defeated him.
