Having trouble tracking down Mitsuhide in Katano Castle in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Friend of My Enemy quest? Hot on the heels of Naoe assassinating the first two Onryo members, Tomiko reveals that Lord Mitsuhide – one of Nobunaga’s most powerful daimyo – wants to have a word. He harbours some animosity towards his master so there’s the potential to get him on the League’s side.

An intercepted letter destined for a commander but addressed to Naoe says he wants to meet at the heavily-guarded Katano Castle. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to find Mitsuhide and complete the Friend of My Enemy quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Talk to Tomiko

To start the Friend of My Enemy quest, talk to Tomiko next to the Improve Hideout desk inside the Himera building at the Hideout. There’s a dialogue option – ‘It will be fine’ and ‘It’s dangerous’ – but the choice doesn’t have any bearing on the outcome of the quest.

Where to find Mitsuhide in Assassin’s Creed Shadows Friend of My Enemy

Fast travel to the Katano Tenshu viewpoint on top of Katano Castle, which you’ll find in the north of Izumi Settsu, northeast of Osaka and northwest of the Hideout. Mitsuhide is located in a house in the northwest of the castle grounds. From the viewpoint, look north and you’ll spot the building, which is shaped like an inverted L. We’ve marked it in the image below to make it easier to find. You can use your scouts to pinpoint the location if needed.

Drop down from the castle, then use Naoe’s Observe skill to pinpoint Mitsuhide’s exact location. From there, it’s a case of making your way over to the building. The castle is still hostile towards Naoe and there’s a heavy guard presence throughout. You can either pick off all enemies before tracking down Mistushide or use stealth to reach the building quietly.

We recommend dropping down to the east of the castle, then using the wall to go north. Drop down onto the road, then up onto the low wall to the north. Take out the guard on the left next to the house, then drop down and use the the crawl space going under the house. Use the trap door to get inside and open the door on your right to find Mitsuhide.

Sit through the cut scene to complete the quest. Captured by VideoGamer

This will trigger a cut scene showing a conversation between Mitsuhide and Naoe. You’ll get two dialogue options though none of the choices have an impact on the outcome of the discussion. After the cut scene ends and you learn some juicy new details about the Onryo, you’ll have wrapped up the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Friend of My Enemy quest, earning you 1000 XP. You’ll now need to head to Kyoto in Yamashiro to meet Ise Sadaoki, Mitsuhide’s son-in-law.
