All game modes in Tekken 8 Demo

There are five game modes available in the Tekken 8 Demo:

  • Story: “The Dark Awakens” Chapter 1
  • Arcade Quest Chapter 1
  • Super Ghost Battle
  • Versus *Partial Mode
  • Gallery *Partial Mode

Each of these gives players a taste of what they can expect to play when the full release comes out. The demo is specifically for gamers who have never played Tekken before to get a taste of what the series is all about. Let’s dive in further to check out each game mode.

Story: “The Dark Awakens” Chapter 1

This mode lets you play through the first chapter of the game’s story mode, The Dark Awakens. You’ll be able to choose the difficulty you’d like to play, from Easy, Medium, and Hard. The story begins with Jin Kazama confronting Kazuya, his father, who has been wreaking havoc on the world since gaining control of the G Corporation. You’ll play in an epic battle between the two, with gorgeous cutscenes to enjoy.

Arcade Quest Chapter 1

Arcade lets you learn about Tekken 8 battles where you are the main character. You’ll be set in a massive arcade, where tons of characters are enjoying Tekken 8. You’ll progress through certain battles to learn the basics about the game, choose characters to learn tutorials for, and more. You’ll also interact with the other players, customizing your character and battling against them.

Super Ghost Battle

This special mode introduced for Tekken 8 lets you battle the ‘ghost’ of other players, from friends to random people in the lobby. The ghost is an AI-controlled fighter that will mimic the moves, quirks, and style of the player the ghost is based on. The more a player has fought, the more accurate the AI will be. This lets you prepare for battles against real players much more efficiently than Player vs CPU.

Super Ghost Battle is the only mode in the demo that is not immediately available. You need to unlock the mode by completing the first chapter of the Arcade Quest.

Versus

Everyone’s favorite, this mode lets you dive straight into fighting opponents. Choose your character to take on either another player or a computer-controlled CPU. Versus is a staple of the Tekken series and in fighting games as a whole. This is where a majority of players will be spending their time.

Gallery

The Gallery is filled with special cutscenes where you can catch up on the story by watching recaps of previous Tekken games. There is no gameplay in this mode, as you just watch the scenes that are presented.
