Original Voices Mod
This is a simple and straightforward mod that restores the voice lines from the original 2002 version of Age of Mythology. This includes all the campaign voiceovers in cutscenes as well. There are other mods that provide a similar function, as well as those that do the same for other languages. However, we’ve found this one to be the most encompassing so far, so if you want to hear what the characters sounded like before, give it a try.
This mod makes it easier to track your resources on a larger screen. Captured by VideoGamerBottom Left Resources
This is another simple mod that switches up your UI a bit. It transfers your resource list to the bottom-left corner of the screen, making it easier to see them at a glance while looking at your build queues. When it comes to this mod, it is purely a matter of preference, but it could be useful for some folks, especially if you play on a very large monitor.
This mod can lead to some massive battles. Captured by VideoGamerNo Population Cap
There are several mods that do something similar. We liked this one because it just removes the pop cap, setting it at 0, which equals to infinite. Other mods tend to either change the pop costs of units or expand the pop value of buildings like houses and manors. With this mod, there is no cap. Of course, it isn’t balanced at all, but can be interesting if you want to engage in some battles on a massive scale.
You can make beautiful settlements – just be wary of enemy attacks. Captured by VideoGamerEmbellishment and Construction Builder
This is a fun mod for all builders out there. It enables a special building section with which you can construct beautifications and other assets for your settlement. You can make roads, bushes, fences, and much more. They don’t have any in-game effects, except to make your settlements look nicer. While it certainly won’t be of any help on higher difficulties, we guarantee that this mod will enhance your immersion when you just need to chill and build.
This scenario is a fun twist on the base game. Captured by VideoGamerIsland Mythodea
Island Mythodea is an extremely fun scenario mod. You start with a Wonder from which you can train new units in exchange for points. To get them, you need to control the central tree on the map, with other players trying to do the same. The goal of the scenario is to advance enough to be able to destroy all other Wonders. Besides units, you can get random unit picks and god powers, making each playthrough slightly different.
Being able to pick from any god when advancing is unbalanced, but so much fun. Captured by VideoGamerExtended Minor God Selection
This mod lets you choose from all available minor gods when advancing through the ages. Meaning, you won’t be tied to the two that are part of your chosen major god’s pantheon. Instead, you can pick any one of them. Obviously, this greatly affects the game’s balance, so be aware of that. Still, it can produce some fun combinations when you consider how much more choice you’ll have.
Titans become even more destructive monsters with this mod. Captured by VideoGamerCollateral Damage Blessing Titans
While the name of this mod may sound confusing, it’s actually fairly simple yet interesting. Firstly, it adds collateral damage to Titan units. That means that they will damage much more around them besides their primary target, friend and foe alike. To compensate, Titans also come with a blessing power, the same one that Pharaoh has. Moreover, the area of effect of their blessing is proportionally increased. This mod turns Titans into weapons of mass destruction, as they should be.
Only Heroes can really counter Mythics with this mod. Captured by VideoGamerDeadly Mythic Units
Do you feel like Mythics are underpowered? If that is the case, then this mod is made for you. It increases the damage multiplier that Mythic units have against Human enemies, making them deadlier and more dangerous. Running this mod then also places a higher emphasis on using Heroes to counter them and enabling their heroic deeds. Admittedly, it’s slightly unbalanced, but is a fun way to make the Mythics the true monsters that they were meant to be.
