As you might already know, Zenless Zone Zero is an ongoing game that constantly gets updates with new regions, story, and characters. Earning the currency to get new characters is one of the main reasons to play the game, and Seed is one of the characters that you can pull with this currency.
Seed is an S-Rank Attack character from the Obol Squad, and she has the ability to buff another Attack-type character in her team alongside herself. Thankfully, you can use some simple w-engines and drive discs to make Seed good for the endgame.
Best Seed W-Engine
Once you successfully pull Seed from the gacha system in Zenless Zone Zero, the first order of business is to put a good W-Engine on her. It's recommended to have an Attack specialty engine on her since she can get the passive boost from it. Of course, Seed's best engine is her signature called Cordis Germina.
Thankfully, she has quite a few other choices if you can't get your hands on this one:
W-Engine
Rank
Synergy With Seed
Cordis Germina
S-Rank
This engine gives Seed a bunch of Crit Rate both from its secondary stat and passive, making your disc grind a lot easier. Furthermore, after you deal damage with your basic attack and EX Special Attack, you can get up to 25 percent extra Electric DMG.
When you have the Electric DMG stack from both abilities, your basic attack and Ultimate can also ignore 20 percent of the enemy's DEF.
The Brimstone
S-Rank
This is a generic w-engine for Attack characters that gives them extra ATK from its secondary stat and also boosts their ATK when their basic attack, dash attack, or dodge counter hits an enemy.
Severed Innocence
S-Rank
While this w-engine is the best choice for Seed after the two above, you can't fully utilize its passive on her. It gives her a bunch of Crit DMG boost from its secondary stat and passive.
After hitting an enemy with a basic attack or Special Attack, her Crit DMG further increases by 10 percent each. However, since Seed doesn't have any aftershock damage, she can't utilize the rest of this engine's passive.
Marcato Desire
A-Rank
This is the best Attack F2P w-engine as it provides some Crit Rate from its secondary stat while also boosting Seed's ATK from its passive.
Cannon Rotor
A-Rank
Finally, you can also use this engine to get a Crit Rate and ATK boosts on Seed while dealing a bit of extra damage every eight seconds.
Best Seed Drive Discs
Drive Discs are an integral part of a character's kit in Zenless Zone Zero since these are the only gear that you can put on Seed where you don't have to spend any premium currency. These discs provide special buffs to the characters when you have two or four pieces from the same set, and they also have their own stats.
For Seed, the best combination for drive discs is a four-piece Dawn's Bloom and a two-piece Woodpecker Electro, but you have a bit of choice with the two-piece depending on your stats:
Drive Disc Set
Synergy With Seed
Dawn's Bloom (4pc)
Once you have a four-piece of this set equipped on Seed, it already gives her a whopping 35 percent basic attack DMG bonus, which is a lot. You can also get an extra 20 percent basic attack DMG after using her EX Special or Ultimate.
Woodpecker Electro (2Pc)
The two-piece of this set can give you eight percent Crit Rate, which is great if you're lacking in Crit Rate.
Branch & Blade Song (2pc)
If you think you already have enough Crit Rate on Seed, you can instead go for this set to get some Crit DMG.

Best Seed Team Compositions
Best Seed Team
Seed, Soldier 0 - Anby, Trigger
F2P Seed Team
Seed, Anton/Billy, Nicole/Lucy
While Seed seems like a fairly easy character to build in Zenless Zone Zero, she's also quite limited when it comes to her team composition. In this game, every character gets a special buff when you use a certain type of character in the team with them. Seed is quite unique since two of her main buffs are decided from this.
She needs another Attack character in the team with her to get a bunch of buffs, which takes away a slot for a Support or Stun character, making her teams quite limited. Of course, as a member of the Obol Squad, she fits perfectly with Soldier 0 - Anby and Trigger, making the best team for all three of them.
You can easily beat the endgame content as long as they're Electric weak with this team.
However, if you don't have these premium characters, your best bet is to use characters like Anton or Billy to fulfill the Attack requirement alongside Nicole or Lucy as support. Nicole can reduce the enemy's DEF while Lucy can provide an ATK boost to Seed, which are both great buffs to choose from.
Seed Skill Overview And Priority
Finally, before you take Seed out for a spin in Zenless Zone Zero, it's important to understand how her kit works. Thankfully, she has one of the easiest kits to understand in the game:
- A large chunk of Seed's damage comes from her Falling Petals basic attacks, which have the Slaughter and Downfall versions. The Slaughter version can be triggered right after the fourth hit of her basic attack, dodge counter, quick assist, or assist follow-up.
- You can also trigger Slaughter after you use up to 60 Energy while holding her EX Special Attack, which locks onto one enemy and continuously launches a barrage of missiles at them.
- Seed has a special bar called the Steel Charge, which gets filled up whenever she attacks the enemy or when she or her Vanguard (more on this below) uses their Energy. You can also get Steel Charge from her Ultimate.
- You can use the Downfall version of the Falling Petals basic attack right after the Slaughter version or her Ultimate. This can attack up to two times, using 60 Steel Charge in each attack. You can also use the Slaughter attack by holding your basic attack when you have more than 120 Steel Charge.
- The Attack-type member in your team with the highest ATK is considered Vanguard. When Vanguard launches an EX Special Attack, Seed gains an ATK and Crit DMG boost, and vice versa. When both Seed and Vanguard have these boosts, their DMG increases by 25 percent.
- These buffs are automatically activated when Seed enters the battle with a Vanguard. Moreover, Seed can also regenerate Vanguard's Energy when she deals damage to the enemies every second.
- Finally, as long as you have another Attack character in the team, Seed can deal 30 percent more DMG and ignore 25 percent of the enemy's Electro RES.
As you might already understand, Seed mainly revolves around getting up to 120 Steel Charge and then using both the versions of her Downfall attack. She'll be on the field for most of her battle so it's important to have an Attack character that mostly relies on their EX Special Attack for the damage.
For Seed's skill priority, you can go in this order: Core > basic attack > Ultimate > Special Attack > Assist > Dodge.
