Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG has some of the most creative deck-building tech, with every card since the dawn of the game being usable as long as it’s not on the ban list. Supreme Darkness has some good choices if you’re planning to build a strong deck from some of the older archetypes or even a rising star.

However, you may be wondering which cards spark the most interest in Supreme Darkness? There’s plenty to see from cards that can fetch some killer Field Spells as well as Monsters that can help out one of the fan-favorite monsters from the Duel Monsters era.

10 Template Skipper

Free Material And A Name On The Field

If you’re looking to upgrade your Maliss deck from Crossover Breakers, then you’ll want this cybernetic fish in your deck. Template Skipper acts as a free extender once you have a Cyberse Link Monster on the field.

Since all the Maliss cards love getting banished, this is a great way of getting a body on the board, banishing a Maliss monster, and having Template Skipper copy the card’s name. This is especially useful when many of the Maliss monsters also become more powerful when they point to something.

9 Magistus Chorozo

A Fresh Super Polymerization Target

This strange little Fusion Monster may look harmless, but it has plenty of potential. This is one of those Fusion Monsters that doesn’t need Polymerization to get on the field, and the materials are flexible. However, if you already run Spellcasters, then this is a great way to slide in Super Polymerization.

Besides being an interesting Super Polymerization target for breaking boards, Magistus Chorozo can also offer protection from an attack. This gives it a boost in stats while also spinning the attacker back to the hand or the Extra Deck if it originated from there.

8 Clockwork Knight

Fetching Field Spells For Machines

The key to making a deck powerful is to give it a Link-1. Clockwork Knight does the trick by giving Earth Machine enthusiasts a solid way of getting Clockwork Night into your hand. It also has the ability to bring other Machines from the graveyard back to the field as a neat little extension.

This card is great for updating plays of older decks such as Cyber Dragons, but it can also be used for other decks. As a Link-1, it also doesn’t take much to get the material on the field to get it out.

7 Eclipse Twins

Stack And Revive Rank Fours

Rank four XYZ Monsters are some of the most common in all of Yu-Gi-Oh! and some of the most useful ones. Eclipse Twins can treat your other Rank fours as material for itself. So, at minimum, you could have six cards underneath Eclipse Twins when it comes to the field.

While it can attack twice, its more impressive effect triggers when it hits the graveyard. It can bring back any Rank four or lower XYZ Monster from the graveyard as long as you also have another one in the grave to put underneath it as material.

6 Primite Dragon Ether Beryl

A Win For Normal Monster Strategies

Normal Monsters have become more useful with the help of the Primite Dragon archetype. Primitive Dragon Ether Beryl not only searches for Spells and Traps from within its own archetype, but it sets them directly to the field which plays under Droll.

You can Tribute this card to dump a Normal Monster to the grave for some set up. This is a great way to get names in the graveyard for other effects that rely on them. Best of all, as long as you have a Normal Monster either on the field or the grave, you can get this card back into your hand.

5 Snake-Eyes Doomed Dragon

A Cool Summoning Method

If you’re looking for an odd Fusion Monster that can place your opponent’s monsters in the unreachable Spell and Trap Zone, Snake-Eyes Doomed Dragon will do the trick. This card is unique in what it does but also in the way in which it can be Summoned.

You can get it out by using a Snake-Eye and Illusion Monster as material, or you can send two face-up monsters that are sitting in your Spell and Trap Zone to the graveyard. This makes it slightly more flexible, making it usable through Snake-Eye decks or even pet decks like Crystal Beasts and Gate Guardians.

4 Mulcharmy Meowls

The Third Mulcharmy Arrives

Mulcharmy Meowls is the third and final piece to the breakdown of Maxx C. This one is a hand trap that can be used to draw a card each time your opponent Special Summons a monster from the graveyard or from their banished cards.

While not as useful as the other two Mulcharmy cards, this one is still an excellent side piece that can hit certain matchups. One example would be how it can get you plenty of draws from an opponent playing a Maliss deck.

3 Elzette, Azamina Of The White Forest

Effects In Hand, Field, And Grave

The White Forest archetype continues to ramp up with Elxette, Azamina of the White Forest. This is a great addition to the archetype since it allows you to start your play with a Special Summon instead of a Normal Summon. Just reveal it from the hand.

While on the field, it also acts as Polymerization on legs without necessarily needing to be part of the materials used for whichever Azamina Fusion Monster you want to bring out. If you use it as Synchro material, you also get a search when it hits the grave. That’s three fantastic effects in one.

2 Tenyi Spirit Suruya

A Free Extender For Tenyi

Tenyi Spirit Suruya is a must-have if your deck uses Normal Monsters in their strategies. It can be Special Summoned for free if you have a Normal Monster or Wyrm on the field. This gives you a Level Four Tuner to use for Synchro plays.

If you use it for a Wyrm Synchro, you also get to Summon a Link Monster directly from the extra deck in exchange for some Life Points. While it can’t be used for Link climbing, the effects are not negated, making it an easy way to exploit your Tenyi Links.

1 A Bao A Qu, The Lightless Shadow

Multi Purpose Fiend

Fiends received plenty of fresh support leading up to the release of Supreme Darkness. A Bao A Qu, The Lightless Shadow is yet another powerful Link Monster for your extra deck that synergizes with Light and Dark decks.

Just discard a card, and you will get your choice of effect. You can get a non-targeting pop on the field or temporarily banish A Bao A Qu to get a Light or Dark monster back from the graveyard. During your Standby Phase, you can rearrange your hand by drawing cards and putting what you don’t need back in the deck.
