Xbox Tells Baldur's Gate 3 Players Banned For Recording Raunchy Scenes To Stop

Baldur's Gate 3 is finally available on Xbox, but those eagerly dipping their toes into one of the biggest hits of 2023 are being met with unexpected bans after enjoying the spicier side of camp life.
For context, if you take screenshots on Microsoft's platform, they're automatically uploaded to the cloud so that you can access them on other devices. But there are rules for what is and isn't allowed in your library, so those who have been snapping pics of some of the raunchier scenes in the game have been suspended for breaching the safety and content policies.
To turn off automatic uploading, navigate to "Profile & System" settings on your Xbox, select "Preferences", then "Capture & Share". You'll see the "Automatically Upload" drop-down menu, simply choose "Don't Upload".
Developer Larian Studios was quickly made aware of this growing issue and got in touch with Microsoft, labelling the bans as "annoying and uncool". The fruit of those conversations is that players simply have to stop uploading their recordings to the cloud as no changes will be made to the safety and content policies.
While many presumed that an automatic system was flagging screenshots for nudity and banning players as a result, Microsoft clarified that "each clip is reviewed by a moderator and, if found in violation of our safety and content policies, actioned accordingly".
As reported by Eurogamer, Microsoft is willing to undo these bans "if actions are deemed to have been taken in error", but warns players to turn off auto-upload so that they are not suspended again in the future.
This means that Xbox will not allow Baldur's Gate 3 players to upload romance scenes to their cloud captures - if you want to screenshot or record the moment, you'll need to find another way to get it from your console to whatever device you need it on.
Our team evaluates appeals and can reverse suspensions if action was taken in error. If this was a first offense, for example, we will remove the suspension and let players know why it happened and how to avoid future issues.
This isn't the only problem that fans have run into on Xbox. Since launch, players have been reporting their save files being erased, even after updates were rolled out. It turns out that it's caused by a firmware issue on the console itself, meaning it's a problem Xbox needs to fix, and so the solution once more lies on players' heads for the time being.
To ensure your saves aren't lost to Avernus, you need to make a Larian account and enable cross-platform saves. Even if you don't play on other platforms, this should protect you from losing all of your progress.
