Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been on the horizon for a while having been revealed during 2021's Game Awards. The almost-three-year wait for the sequel is almost over, and the last thing you need to do before finally getting your hands on the game is pre-order it. There are three editions of Space Marine 2 available, all launching on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and all of the details you need about every edition can be found below.

13 years on from the last Space Marine game, with various other Warhammer games releasing in the meantime, getting into Warhammer video games might feel a little daunting. It needn't be though, and our preview of Space Marine 2 confirmed that you don't even need to have played the first game to enjoy the sequel. Handy since the original will feel a little dated once you've seen pretty much anything from its sequel. The cheapest option is the standard edition and while it doesn't come with added extras, you will get Macragge's Chosen DLC as a pre-order bonus if you buy the game before it launches on September 9.

Those better acquainted with Warhammer 40,000 and the original Space Marine game may want to pay a little extra to get a little more, especially after waiting almost a decade and a half for this game. Priced at $99.99, the physical version of the Gold Edition comes with a Steelbook as well as some in-game extras, including the same pre-order bonus you get with the standard edition. You'll also be able to play three days earlier than everyone else, meaning your Space Marine 2 adventure can begin on September 6 rather than waiting until September 9.

Still not enough? There is a third option reserved for the most hardcore Warhammer 40K fans, or newbies certain they're going to immediately fall in love with the sequel. It's a collector's edition, and as is the case with most collector's editions, it costs quite a lot of money. However, for $249.99, you're going to get a heck of a lot of Warhammer. Swap the Gold Edition's Steelbook for a fully-fledged collector's box (although you do still get the Steelbook too), and throw in an artbook that details the making of Space Marine 2.

That's not what drives the price of the collector's edition up to its $250 price tag, though. It's the statue that comes with it. Lieutenant Titus, in the middle of killing a rather grim-looking foe, holding the enemy by its head as it drips blood, the Marine's sword in his other hand. It's one of the most detailed collector's edition statues I've ever seen, and well worth the money if you're a hardened fan and can afford the lofty asking price. You can even change the statue's head so Titus has his helmet off, although I'd personally prefer to be as covered up as possible when about to perform what will likely be a very messy kill.
