Where To Find Whetstones
Whetstones are a random loot drop that can be found inside bandit camps within the Farbane Woods. If you want to find a spot that has a lot of spawns with chests that also drop Whetstones, head to the Bandit Armory. We recommend an item level of 25-30 for this area.
Whetstones are fairly rare right at the start of the game, but once you head into slightly higher-level areas to clear bosses and elites, you should be finding them lying around a lot more often.
Where To Farm Whetstones
Looking to farm Whetstones instead of making some yourself? There are three main locations where you can farm Whetstones, with a pathway connecting all three.
As mentioned above, you can find Whetstones in the Bandit Armory. Starting from here, you can then head to the right and slightly up until you come to the Bandit Stronghold. This area is the home ofQuincey The Bandit King, but he doesn't patrol the lower layer, so you don't have to take him on.
After sweeping through the Bandit Stronghold, you can then head right again, this time aiming for a small Bandit Encampment. Here, you can find even more Whetstones. Once you've looted here, you can begin the loop all over again!
How To Craft Whetstones
Whetstones are crafted at the Furnace with one Copper Ingot and 12 Stone Dust. To get the recipe to craft Whetstones, you will first need to defeat Grayson the Armourer. This is a level 27 boss who is found in the Bandit Armory mentioned above.

This V Blood carrier is found at the 'top' of the Bandit Armory; this means that you will need to pass by many other enemies before reaching him. We highly suggest setting out right before night falls; once the moon rises, you can quickly enter the armory and have a full night to cause some chaos.
We recommend an item level of 25-30 before fighting the boss.
Overall, this fight is fairly straightforward, since he's not too high-level compared to most other enemies in the game. Once defeated, he will reward you with a tier one spell point for Illusion magic, as well as workshop flooring, shelves, target dummies, and the recipe for Whetstones.
