PostsAs the Tricorns Ride is an early game sidequest located to the south of your starting location. A brief cutscene will reveal more of Travis's background and introduce you to the boss of today's battle: Bruno. This battle serves as an important introduction to the Gladiator class, a very bulky foe.

You're up against two new classes here: Gladiators and Gryphon Knights.
- Gladiators are veritable buckets of HP with a Passive that allows them to recover from any damage they take. Taking them down is a tough ask, so you should have a dedicated unit for the task.
- Gryphon Knights are fliers, which makes them very good at picking off your cavalry units - keep Clive away from them. They're weak to archers and quite evasive otherwise, so bring Rolf from the previous side quest along for an easier time.
We recommend the following formations to take down this battle cleanly:
Formation 1
Archer Killer
Back Row
Clive
This is a general all-rounder formation that has Clive to easily take down the tower full of Archers. Make Clive the leader for extra movement speed.
Front Row
Hodrick
Alain
Formation 2
Gryphon Killer
Back Row
Rolf
Aubin
Lex is here to soak up damage, while Rolf is there to deal with Gryphons. This formation should be directed to the Gryphon enemies as soon as possible.

Lex
Formation 3
Gladiator Killer
Back Row
Travis
Chloe
This is your Gladiator killer. Travis's Passive Steal will fire first, stealing away a Gladiator's healing ability. These units all have full rows in them too, which makes Chloe's Long Thrust more useful. Josef is there for raw damage.

How To Beat The Tricorns Ride
As you start with three Valor points, there's no harm in deploying all three of your formations immediately. Your command post is very close to a Gladiator formation - send your Gladiator Killers at it and mop it up - it should go down quickly.
The next units, however, are more generic - send your other formations to take these down - you want to save your Gladiator Killers' Stamina.
After mopping up the generic, roaming units, send your Gladiator Killer formation to Thulust Harbor in the west, and your Archer formation to the Gryphon Knights on the bridge. Rolf alone should be enough to take them down.
Don't forget to pick up the shining item to the right of the bridge - it's 4,000G War Funds.
With those targets cleaned up, make sure you claim Thulust Harbor with your Gladiator Killer formation to recover some Stamina and get some Smoked Nuts, and then send them down to the southern bridge, which is held by another Gladiator unit.
Your other two units, on the other hand, should head towards the east. Send Clive to the tower to take care of the Archers first, and then take on the Gryphon Knights at the fort with Rolf. If you're lucky with hit rates, you might be able to deal with both units in one battle, but you might need two if any units miss. Don't neglect the item pickup next to the tower, which contains a Liquid Fortune.
As your Gladiator Killer proceeds south, they'll uncover the proceeding unit of Gladiators. Luckily, they're weak and easily dealt with. Make sure you nab the Revival Orb (S) next to the crumbling house on the southern side of the bridge and then take Bruno on.
What makes Bruno tough is that he has two PP, which means he can heal up from two attacks per battle rather than the Gladiator's usual one. This makes Travis necessary to beat him with little effort, as Passive Steal will take both PP from him in a single strike.
As the boss, Bruno will take a few battles to kill, but the unit suggested above is bulky enough to survive with ease. As a reward, you'll get a Brown Beret, which is a nice accessory for your physical units.
The following cutscenes will explain more about Travis and Bruno's shared past, as well as tease a later character: Berengaria. For completing the side quest, you'll be rewarded with a Recruit's Shortsword, a Light Feather, and the Tricorn Mercenaries heraldry, in addition to 15 Renown. Bruno himself will also join up.
