As an MMORPG, Throne And Liberty features an incredible amount of content which can be quite overwhelming if you're not used to the genre. While the game does a fantastic job of teaching the basics, there's a lot of stuff that you will have to figure out on your own.

If you've just started playing the game and want to get a head start against the players who have been playing the game since early access, these beginner tips will help you get up to speed and allow you to catch up. These tips will also allow you to grasp the basics of how the world of Solisium works and how to do your best in it.

Hoard As Many World Tree Leaves As You Can

Whether you're using a melee or mage build, collecting World Tree Leaves should be one of your top priorities early in the game. This item allows you to heal yourself automatically if you take damage, and can be exceptionally helpful during long battles. If you've collected a lot of World Tree Leaves, you can also fight off against enemies that are much stronger than you due to consistent healing.

World Tree Leaves are used automatically to heal you whenever you're not at maximum health. You can see how many are left at the bottom left corner of the screen.

As you progress further, you will unlock skills that allow you to heal yourself, even without any healing items. But, even with all these skills, it's best to have a huge amount of this item in your inventory so you can focus on actually fighting against your enemies instead of focusing on your health. You can collect World Tree Leaves by defeating enemies, completing quests, and from a number of shops all over the world.

Stick With Your Build

The game allows you to equip one main weapon and one off-hand weapon. While you can switch both of these weapons at any time during your playthrough, it is recommended that you stick to one type of weapon in the early game and focus your stats around it. For example, if you like playing with a greatsword, you should invest a lot of stat points in strength.

Focusing on one type of build will allow you to be more effective in combat in the early game. Additionally, you will also be able to gain Mastery, later on, of the said weapon if you keep using it, making it even more effective.

You can reset your stats later as many times as you need if you decide to change your weapon of choice. It gives you the option of tailoring your stats to your weapon without any worries.

Focus On Story Quests

As a beginner, the open world of Throne And Liberty can be quite overwhelming. Once you've started, there are so many places to go and explore that you might not know what to do first. In the first few hours of the game, it is best to just focus on the story quests and clear as many chapters as you can.

You can also gain experience by defeating enemies early on, but it doesn't compare to the experience you receive by doing the story quests.

Clearing Story Quests grants you a huge amount of experience, allowing you to level up quickly. Leveling up early is of the utmost importance because many skills and features only become available after you're past a certain level.

Avoid Selling Your Equipment

Early on, there's not much use for the in-game currency, and you will have a lot of it by the time you start using it. Selling equipment pieces that you receive as enemy drops or in chests can be quite wasteful.

Instead, it is better to use that equipment in the Lithography Book. This will allow you to unlock better-quality rewards and will be exceptionally useful in the long run.

Some equipment pieces are mentioned in multiple entries in the Lithography Book, so even if you have several copies of the same equipment, it is better to use them all in the Lithography Book than to sell them for a currency that you didn't have much use of in the early game. Just make sure you haven't leveled it up.

Transfer Gear Progress

Whether it's a piece of armor or a weapon, if you've leveled it up, you can transfer the enhancement progress to any other weapon or armor. While it may not come in handy early on, just knowing that you can transfer the gear progress to the equipment you acquire later on allows you to go all out in investing in your current gear.

Similarly, you can also transfer growth levels of skills as well, allowing you to maximize the skills that you want to use right now.

Leveling up weapons can be extremely useful in maximizing your damage output, and the fact that you can immediately enhance a weapon of better quality using the one that you already have is a nice quality-of-life feature. This feature also allows you to switch your build on the fly if a situation requires it.

Focus On PvE

The game allows for both PvE and PvP events. In some dynamic events, you might be able to face off against other players. However, as a beginner, your top priority should be to fight against in-game enemies instead of other players.

Fighting against open world enemies also allows you to learn the basics of combat and how to utilize your skills the best way, which will then help you later on in PvP as well.

Finish Enemies With A Big Last Hit

If you've been fighting against in-game enemies a lot, you might have noticed that you sometimes gain increased experience from these enemies. Last hitting an opponent with a highly damaging skill or attack allows you to gain increased experience from killing the enemy.

If you want to maximize your experience gain early on, you should save your most damaging attack for the last and hit the enemy with it when it's on low health. This trick also helps you out in late-game and can be an extremely efficient way of leveling up.

Join A Guild

You can join a guild as soon as you're at level seven. Joining a guild provides many benefits, even if you're a solo player. Joining a guild gives you several passive bonuses and rewards which can prove useful as you progress through the game.

After you've cleared chapter five, you can unlock the guild merchants and get tons of useful items from them, such as Recovery Crystals and Chests. However, till you reach that point in the story, the other passive bonuses and events rewards from your guild are enough of a reason to join it.

Don't Craft Low-Tier Weapons

During the early game, there's not much use in crafting low-tier weapons and armor, as you'll be able to get many of those as quest rewards and by killing enemies. Wasting your lower rarity materials to craft such items can be wasteful.

You can check what crafting materials you require from the crafting menu, but to craft the items, you'll have to head to a Crafter's shop.

You can convert lower-rarity materials into higher-rarity crafting items at a Crafter's shop. The higher-rarity materials can then be used to craft high-rarity weapons and gear which can be incredibly useful as you progress through the game.
