The Rise Of The Golden Idol: All Solutions For Protest Movement

Protest Movement, a Chapter 3 case of The Rise of the Golden Idol, has us meeting new faces and seeing a familiar building from an unfamiliar side. That building, however, is rather unlike the one we're used to - it has some new inhabitants. That's not to say we don't recognise them, however.

Posts 1As with some other cases, this scene isn't as disastrous as you'd expect. There's little in the way of death and destruction here, just a tragic accident. Working out how that accident came to pass, however, is the name of the game, and we're on hand to help you out with clues and some pushes in the right direction.

All Name Solutions
We have eight names to fill out here - luckily, we don't have to identify every protester here.
- We do have to identify the lead protester, though. Their name is identified as 'P. Coolidge' by the protest invite - what name could fit 'P.', and who does the dialogue point to as the leader?
- Dialogue will help you identify many forenames, while letters and notes will let you fill out surnames.
- The man on the left of the bottom screen seems to use his telescope a lot. Evidence of what this might be will help you identify those around him.
- Engraved rings are a romantic symbol, and there is only one married couple here.
- There are two people here from previous cases. Very recent ones, in your experience.
- The book on the roof will help you identify one of the protesters you need to name. To work out their surname, think about whose book this is.
Solution
The locations of the names in the table below correspond with the names in-game.
Corbyn Shaw
Tobias Amstel
Odetta Amstel
Jeffrey Amstel
Penny Coolidge
Eugene Marmot
Jack Nowak
Andi Shaw

The key 'moment' that this case revolves around is the large block of ice that seems to have rolled into the pool on the bottom screen. It's up to you, here, to work out how this happened and the path the ice took.
- A key player here is the woman to the far right of the protesters. Her dialogue and location will provide the clues you need.
- Much of this panel requires you to deduce the correct path of the ice while ignoring the red herrings.
- Pay close attention to the grooves in the earth and the shapes, sizes, and patterns you can identify. Some of the panels you can slot here are red herrings.
Solution
From top to bottom, the panels you need are:
- The broken bird bath.
- The crumpled bike on its side.
- The large, wide groove in the dirt (not the thin one).
- The red dirt mark that crosses a tree's root.
- The hole in the bushes near the pool.
- The barbecue and the man it falls on.
- The ice in the pool.
Next to the bike panel, you'll have another square to fill in with the phrase 'Which belongs to:' - this is a picture of the lead protester, Penny Coolidge.

This series of events is quite a short one, compared to those you've completed previously.
- Working out the path of the block of ice is basically the key to working this one out.
- The protest is also important - try to work out exactly why there is a protest. Examine dialogue and literature to see the obvious conclusion.
- You might recognise some aspects of this location, but you must keep an open mind - things can change.
Solution
A group of protesters gathered outside the OPIG laboratory, upset about the closure of the Harmony Foundation.
During the protest, Andi Shaw attempted to steal a bird bath. When she accidentally broke it, a block of ice came loose, rolled down the hill, and hit Tobias Amstel's barbecue, causing it to fall over and injure him.
