Love it or hate it, weapon durability is a big part of both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, with most of the useable items you come across in the game having an all-too-short window of use before breaking forever. It's controversial and has caused a lot of issues for some players, but it looks like a fix is coming in the Switch 2 Editions... kind of.

One of the big features coming alongside the Switch 2 Editions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom is a new mobile app called Zelda Notes, which was shown off during the reveal and has a variety of uses, from capturing creations to guiding towards items. As reported by VGC and originally spotted by YouTuber Zeltik, one of the app's features is a random daily bonus roll.

That bonus roll can give players a random buff per day, such as recovering stamina, recharging Energy Cells, or offering a specific type of meal. The most interesting of these bonuses, and the one that Zeltik specifically pointed out is called "Equipment Repairs", which seems like it'll repair whatever items you have equipped.

The exact parameters of the repair aren't clear right now, but it does make sense that it'd only fix a few equipped items instead of a whole inventory's worth.

Considering how controversial the weapon durability mechanics are in both games and how few options you have to deal with them, it's a potentially massive inclusion. That being said, it's not as gamebreaking as you might think, as the bonuses seem to be random per day and can only be rolled once, so you're really only in for a chance of getting your gear repaired once per day.
