PostsNot only can you learn how to unlock it, but discover further details about Speedrun Mode, such as how it tracks your time, what you start with, and if it follows in-game or real-time tracking. Doing so will let you enjoy the game mode, test out builds, and see how fast you can beat the game.
How To Unlock Speedrun Mode
Unlocking Speedrun Mode has a straightforward requirement, but accomplishing it is hard: you must beat the game. That requires you to complete ten Compression Events, which means filling up the bar at the bottom ten times.
Once you do, you'll unlock the Railgun, which you can buy at the House Of Shards. It will cost 26.2 million Shards to build, and then you can build (the) Finale, which costs 262 million Shards and two Gnorps.
At this point, you just need to Initiate (the) Finale, which only costs 262 thousand Shards, and can be activated once you fill the Compression Meter an 11th time.
Once you activate it, you'll see the ending cutscene. You'll be told you won and can return to the main menu to begin Speedrun Mode.

How Does Speedrun Mode Work?
To begin Speedrun Mode, select it on the Main Menu, then Start. You'll have a timer in the top-left corner, but it won't start until you click the rock.
When you hover over Speedrun Mode, you'll see your best time as well. The game also gives you 20 Talent Points, so if you beat the game with fewer of them, you can switch to Speedrun Mode to avoid grinding for the remaining Prestige Levels.
The game will play as normal. It will let you know if you beat your previous time, and the in-game timer tracks it by the hour, minute, then second.
As soon as you activate (the) Finale, the time will stop, even as the cutscene plays. Closing the game will save your progress and pause it, so don't be afraid to close the game and continue your run later.
