The Glory of Team Rocket Pokemon TCG expansion and its Western counterpart, Destined Rivals, will go down as one of the most hotly anticipated in the trading card game's history.
The set sees the return of Team Rocket for the first time in years and inevitably brings with it the opportunity for some great cards centered around the notorious villains.

I personally queued for four (!) hours and still didn't get anything.
Posts 2The expansion is now just a short week away from release in Japan, and as is often the case, the main setlist has been revealed, but one pair of Rocket legends is surprisingly absent from the expansion.
The Glory Of Team Rocket Main Setlist Revealed, Features No Jessie Or James
Jessie and James are the OGs of Team Rocket. They appeared in the second episode of the anime alongside their Pokemon Meowth, Ekans, and Koffing and remained a constant thorn in Ash's side throughout. You'd have thought they'd have been a shoo-in for this set, but apparently not.
The duos' first and only appearance in the Pokemon TCG came in Sun and Moon's Hidden Fates expansion, and the wait for a new card goes on.
Despite the absence of Jessie and James, The Glory of Team Rocket should still have some excellent cards in it if the main set is anything to go by.
The set will feature eight standard ex cards, each of which has the opportunity to feature as a full art or special illustration rare.
They are:
- Arboliva ex
- Team Rocket's Moltres ex
- Cetitan ex
- Giovanni's Mewtwo ex
- Regirock ex
- Team Rocket's Crobat ex
- Giovanni's Nidoking ex
- Giovanni's Persian ex
With Mewtwo, Crobat, Nidoking, Persian, and Crobat all being popular Pokemon, the possibilities are endless, and all eyes will be on the inevitable secret rare Mewtwo.
It's worth noting, The Glory of Team Rocket will also have the TCG's first Chingling card since 2009.
Six of the expansion's secret rares have been revealed so far, with Wobbuffet, Meowth, and Moltres all featuring.
CloseWith these reveals and the already-released Heatwave Arena, we can start to piece together what May's Destined Rivals will start to look like, and not to stoke the flames, but it looks exciting.
