Any player can be added via the Social menu, all you need is their game ID. This applies to both same-platform and cross-platform players. If you come across some other players that are grinding the same objectives as you, you can also add them by interacting with them in-game.

How To Add Friends

Friends are added via the Social menu, accessed on the map screen. On PC, just press M on the keyboard to open the map.

Once on the social screen, you can add a friend using their ID, look for local players in your zone, or add players that you've recently played with.

You can also interact with players in the game world by running over to them and holding down T on the keyboard. This will open a menu that allows you to invite them as a friend or invite them to your party.

The toggles shown in the image above change the available players between same-platform and cross-platform. You can friends from any platform and play with them in The First Descendant.

Once you're in a party, you will enter the same zones and complete missions together. Loot is individual for each player, but you will get drops from the enemies your party members defeat.

Enemies do scale in difficulty alongside the size of your party. This is particularly true for Void Intercept battles - the more players, the tougher the enemy.
