The duplicate glitch isn't only there to make you rich; it can also allow you to duplicate rarer items that you encounter, making it incredibly useful, especially because using the glitch doesn't disable your achievements, unlike cheats.

It's likely this glitch will be patched at some point, so use it before you lose it.

How To Duplicate Items

This trick is much easier on a PC with a keyboard and mouse, but using a controller instead grants you more control over what item you intend to duplicate. First, you'll need to find a storage container, which can be anything from a chest to a barrel or a sack that allows you to store your items inside it.

It's better if you find a storage container near the Merchant's Inn inside the Imperial City, or any other merchant, so you can walk to them even if you're encumbered, and sell the duplicated items.

Before you begin, you should make sure you have stored most of your unnecessary items somewhere else. Duplicating items can easily get you to exceed your carrying capacity.

You'll also need a bunch of arrows, or any other item that you have multiple units of, such as lockpicks. It is recommended that you have at least ten of these arrows or any other item in your inventory.

After accessing the storage container, you'll have to press the 'Search' button. Doing so will bring your inventory side by side with the container, and you'll be able to transfer items between your inventory and the container with the press of a button.

How To Use The Duplicate Glitch On PC

Now, you should empty the container and transfer a bunch of arrows into it. For example, transfer around 100 arrows to the container. If you're using a keyboard and mouse, you can simply hold shift and drag the arrows from the container to your inventory by using the left-click button of your mouse.

Doing so will duplicate an item from your inventory inside the container, equal to the number of arrows you had stored in the container. However, using this method doesn't grant you much control over which item will get duplicated.

If the item that's getting duped isn't the one you want, you canadjust the position of where you're releasing the left mouse click after dragging it back to your inventory. Doing so may change the item that's getting duplicated.

How To Use The Duplicate Glitch On Consoles

For Xbox and PS5 controllers, this trick is more precise, but a lot more difficult to pull off. First, you'll have to transfer the item you want to duplicate to the container. For example, you can put one Weak Potion of Healing inside the container after accessing the search menu to duplicate it.

Now, you have to switch to your inventory, which can be done by pressing LB or L1, depending on your controller, and then find the bundle of hundreds of arrows or any other item you have stored in your inventory in a huge quantity.

Press RB+A if you're using an Xbox controller or R1+X if you have a PS5 controller. Getting the correct timing can be tricky on a controller, but if you've done it right, it will pop up the select the amount to be transferred on the screen while switching the selection to the container.

Select the max number to be transferred, and then on the confirmation screen, you have to press A or X twice very quickly. If you've done it successfully, the duplicated item will be transferred to your inventory.

You can also use this trick on PC with a controller if you want more control over what item you want to be duplicated.

How To Sell The Duplicated Items For Infinite Money

Now that you have lots of duplicated items, you can head to any merchant. Make sure the merchant has a higher gold limit, which can be seen under their name in the bartering menu.

Nilphas Omellian is an excellent choice for a merchant. You can spot him sometimes in the Merchant's Inn, and he has a gold limit of 2,000.

If you make any offer that exceeds the gold limit, the merchant will decline your offer, and if you're doing this for quick money, it will take a lot of time to sell all of your duplicated items. Therefore, it's best to find a merchant with a high gold limit, and then you can sell your items in batches multiple times without exceeding the gold limit.

You can repeat the duplication process and then sell the items as many times as you need to get rich.

If you're on a PC, you can also open the console and type "player.additem f X", where X can be the amount of gold that you want to add to your inventory. However, keep in mind that using cheats will disable your achievements for the playthrough.
