This list is based on overall appearance, design, and popularity, especially since some HoYoverse characters can't be compared in terms of power, as games like Tears of Themis don't have traditional combat.

9 Aventurine

• Game: Honkai: Star Rail

First up, we have Aventurine from Honkai: Star Rail. Aventurine is a risk-taking gambler with a cool personality, making him the favorite of many. Of course, a gambling character in a gacha game is bound to attract fans.

Overall, Aventurine's placement on this list is a culmination of his looks and smarts, as well as his voice acting; both in English and Japanese. Who doesn't love a gambler that always wins?

8 Artem

• Game: Tears of Themis

Artem is one of the four main characters in Tears of Themis (excluding you). This game isn't quite as possible as Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, but it has some great characters. Artem is a lawyer at your firm, working alongside you to solve cases.

In addition to being attractive, Artem is incredibly smart. Throughout the story, you'll need to solve a variety of cases, which often have breakthroughs due to Artem's intelligence. He even became a senior attorney with a nearly perfect win rate when he was just 28.

7 Zhongli

• Game: Genshin Impact

Zhongli is the first Genshin Impact character we have on our list, and it's easy to understand his inclusion. In addition to his usefulness in combat, Zhongli is often voted as one of the most popular characters in Genshin Impact.

Like previous characters on our list, many think that Zhongli is quite attractive, exemplifying the 'bishonen' look to the fullest. Oh, and we can't forget that Zhongli is 6,000 years old. With that age, it's no wonder that Zhongli is incredibly longwinded.

6 Kafka

• Game: Honkai: Star Rail

Looking at any picture of Kafka, she's cool. Not just a little cool looking though, Kafka oozes coolness in her appearance, dialogue, and even her Ultimate. Many even describe her as a classic Femme Fatale.

5 Billy

• Game: Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero is one of the newer HoYoverse games out there, with Billy being a free character that you can play as right from the start. So, what makes him so good? Despite not having a real face, Billy is hard not to love.

Billy has an outgoing and funny personality with a very fitting voice. Due to his presence right from the start of the game, he feels like a friend that accompanies you on your journey. While fighting, he says some pretty iconic lines too; we can't forget the Starlight Knights.

4 Rosa

• Game: Tears of Themis

In general, otome games often fall victim to a lifeless main female lead. This is the character that you play as, so many games turn them into a 'shell', allowing you to self-insert. This isn't the case in Tears of Themis though. While Rosa is the main female lead, she is an incredibly intelligent character full of life.

Rosa is the canon name for this character, but you can make her name anything you want. In our version of the game, Rosa is known as 'Jacqueline'.

Overall, Rosa is righteous, always wanting to help the people of Stellis City. Her qualifications are nothing to scoff at either; Rosa has a law degree from Stellis University Law School and now works as a lawyer alongside Artem at the age of 24.

3 Firefly

Firefly was introduced as a playable character within Honkai: Star Rail in June 2024 and quickly became a favorite of many. At first glance, she may look like a typical girl, but Firefly's story is anything but.

This character is a biological weapon with a full suit of armor known as SAM. The armor in question is a mecha suit, giving Firefly a very Gundam-like appearance (naturally, this draws in mecha fans). Firefly is also affected by Entropy Loss Syndrome, which causes her to have "irreversible chronic dissociation" of her physical structure.

2 Arataki Itto

• Game: Genshin Impact

Arataki Itto is our second character from Genshin Impact, this time with a very distinct 'oni' appearance. Complete with little red horns, Itto is a bit of a delinquent, but that doesn't stop him from being a central character in anything related to Inazuma.

Itto's high energy and voice actor make for a likable character; you may even recognize his voice as being Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5. Interestingly, both characters give off the same vibe of 'bad boy, but still wants to be your friend'.

Last but not least, we have Kiana Kaslana. This occurring character first debuted in 2011 with the launch of FlyMe2theMoon. If you don't know what this is, it's okay. This is the first HoYoverse game made, back when they were still MiHoYo.

Kiana went on to appear in subsequent HoYoverse games, with many players pointing out characters in Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail that look similar. Currently, Kiana hasn't been officially confirmed in either game, but this may change in the future. Overall, she is an iconic part of the HoYoverse brand.
