Lost Goods is a treasure hunt from The Witcher 3's deadly swamp, Velen. You might encounter this short quest when exploring the region while searching for Ciri. Like other treasure hunts, you will need to find a single clue and search a designated area to find a chestful of treasure.

Far from major roads and settlements, you may need this guide to find the body that starts the quest. The loot itself isn't the best, but it can be incredibly valuable early in Geralt's adventure when you are strapped for cash. Alternatively, if you just want to do everything in the game, we'll help you do that.

Where To Start Treasure Hunt: Lost Goods

This quest begins north of Ferry Station, a fast travel point found southeast of Hanged Man's Tree, where Geralt first enters Velen. You will need to find a dead Nilfgaardian in the woods to find a note that starts the quest.

Ferry Station has a Ghoul problem, with the necrophages occupying the town. While not required, you may wish to kill them before continuing on this quest.

This Nilfgaardian was slain while searching for a chest full of valuables stolen from civilians fleeing the war. The note will lead you to a small marsh east of the body. It's just a few steps away.

Getting The Treasure

The treasure chest is next to a half-sunken boat by a dock and a pack of Drowners. While not required, it is certainly much safer to kill the monsters before attempting to empty the treasure chest.

The tall grass surrounding the treasure can make this fight more challenging than usual. Keep an eye out for Drowners lunging through before they take you by surprise. Watch their health indicators to get a sense of where they are.

The quest will end after you claim the treasure. The loot itself is randomized but will likely contain crafting materials and some mediocre weapons. You can also search some crates and barrels on the dock for less valuable loot such as animal pelts or alcohol if you are lucky.
