When you decide to set sail in the fantastic world of Sail Forth, you'll first have to get through the Sandy Shores area. Although, this area is quite beginner-friendly, and things will start ramping up once you get past it. The second set of islands is known as The Green Ruins, and they're filled with beautiful green islands.

The second area will start revealing a lot more secrets about your world as you have a relaxing time sailing on the horizon. There are tons of new islands and activities to explore, and you'll have to find some difficult places if you want to get past this area.

Things You Can Find In The Green Ruins

After defeating the ship of Marga Underskull at the end of Sandy Shores, you'll get your first Deadrock and the first island of The Green Ruins will appear on the world map. You have to talk to the researcher about the Deadrock you found, but you don't have to go back to the island where he exists on Sandy Shores.

As soon as you get to the first island in The Green Ruins, you'll see the researcher's ship somewhere within the boundaries. You might have to look around for a bit, but it will save you some time by preventing you from going back.

The researcher will experiment on the Deadrock and tell you that he needs more samples to make a proper hypothesis. He'll also tell you that he senses one of the samples in The Green Ruins area, and ask you to explore around and find it. From this point, you can start exploring this area normally.

You'll find the same wooden crates, vessels, and fishing locations where you can get map fragments to reveal more islands. You can also sail in a certain direction to get an idea of the surrounding islands if you're at a dead end. There might be times when map fragments don't reveal any new information, even though there are islands left to explore.

Here's every main event you can come across in this area:

Name

Symbol

Function

Skull Clan Fort

Skull above a box

These are similar to the forts you went against in Sandy Shores, except they'll be heavily armed. There will be multiple towers of Skull Clan members, and you might also find some vessels sailing around the place.

Skull Clan Vessel

Skull above a ship

These remain the most common form of Skull Clan enemies you'll go against. Unlike Sandy Shores, you will get a higher number of vessels on the same island, and they'll have better ships.

There will also be a special event where you'll see a Skull Clan vessel trying to extort a random ship. You can do one of three things: defeat the Skull Clan vessel, give them the wooden planks they ask for, or simply leave the random ship in their hands.

Skull Clan Shrine

Giant skull

Once again, you'll have one Skull Clan Shrine that will give you a Light Prism. This can be exchanged at the lighthouse to get Lumenade in return, but you'll have to go through a battle.

Skull Clan Shipyard

Wooden port

This is a new type of the main event that starts spawning from The Green Ruins. Whenever you get this mark on an island map or the world map, it means that you can steal a ship from the location after defeating a bunch of clan members.

To steal the boat, you'll have to use the Harpoon Gun on it and board the ship after getting close. Once you take over, you can either demolish the ship or add it to your fleet.

Lighthouse

Lighthouse

The lighthouse performs the same function in The Green Ruins. You can exchange your Ancient Junk and Light Prism here, and you can also mark every event on the island with a lighthouse on it by talking to the nocturnal being.

Race Track

Black and white flag

As the name suggests, you'll race the same ship once again on a track with one checkpoint between you and the finish line. The best way to win this race is by trying to run the enemy ship into islands or rocks.

Target Practice

Red target

The Target Practice course on The Green Ruins will need you to shoot 11 targets instead of eight. Moreover, some of these targets will be very high while others move at a decent speed, making it hard to hit them.

Delivery

Delivery item with a pickup or drop arrow beside it

The best part about delivery events is that it usually marks an island quite far away, and this gives you a general idea of the path you have to follow.

Picture Commission

Camera

There will be some new types of picture commissions in The Green Ruins. You'll have to take pictures of the stars, a sad sailor, and a blue jellyfish in the waters.

Peculiar Ship

Doesn't appear on the map

This is a random special event exclusive to The Green Ruins where you can find a small ship with a nocturnal being look-alike. The face of this being will have a blinking purple light, and you can only talk to them at night.

Moreover, the ship will have another purple light that is always on, and an arrow on top. None of these hints at you to sail in any specific direction. It's just a random detail in The Green Ruins.

Other than the main events, you can also come across some random events that can generate at any point on any island. These events can give you extra crew members, wooden planks, or even Ancient Junk.

How To Finish The Main Quest In The Green Ruins

There will come a time when the map fragments will stop adding any new information to the map no matter how many times you find them. This mostly means that you have uncovered all the general islands of this area except the final one. The final island doesn't get revealed by the fragments.

If you've reached this situation, head over to the northernmost island(s) and start sailing straight north. As you go beyond the boundaries of the island, the map will start zooming out and you might uncover a new location. If the location isn't revealed to you, try to head in the northeast and northwest directions.

The only way to find the final island is by raw exploration. You have to travel in different directions for a few minutes to find it. Usually, you'd be able to locate adjacent islands if you zoom your map far enough since the structure of these islands starts showing.

Unfortunately, this is not true for the final island in The Green Ruins since it doesn't have any structure in the first place.

After reaching this final island, you'll have a chat with another ship of the Skull Clan, but this ship isn't your final boss this time around. After a few dialogues, the giant island behind the ship will start moving and it'll reveal the Giant Enemy Kreb. You can easily lose this fight if you aren't prepared.

The Kreb will have three spots that you can target. Two of these are the pink portions of its hands, and the final one is its mouth. The pink hands aren't a necessary target but you will take a lot less damage if you get rid of them. After hitting its mouth enough times, the Kreb will reveal its weakness.

As the Kreb goes in the position shown above, start hitting the pink Deadrock at the bottom. This will have 100 health points, and you can technically defeat the boss right here with enough firepower. Although, if you aren't able to defeat it in time, the boss will jump in a certain direction.

It's important to see which direction the boss jumps in, or it'll become very hard to locate it in the unforgiving fog.

Defeating the boss will get you the second Deadrock and open the third set of islands for you.

Tips For Sailing In The Green Ruins

While the exploration of The Green Ruins is similar to Sandy Shores, the difficulty ramps up quite a lot. Here are a few tips that will help you survive in the area:

  • Don't stay still when you fight the small Krebs. These are the new enemies found in The Green Ruins, and they shoot explosive purple bombs. You can easily avoid these bombs if you keep moving, but they deal a lot of damage if you take a hit.
  • The lighthouse battle after submitting the Light Prism will have you fighting a few spirits that look like the blue jellyfish you took pictures of. You have to go around the place and defeat them all, but they will attack you back.
  • This is the point in the game where you have to build your fleet properly. The final battle against Giant Enemy Kreb is much easier if you have a couple of ships giving you support fire. Moreover, a higher number of ships in your fleet will make it easier to fight the Skull Clan vessels.
  • Make sure you go through every broken marble structure on the islands since they can contain wooden crates and wooden planks in general.
