While Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake is, in a lot of ways, a pretty faithful rendition of the original Silent Hill 2, it also adds a couple of new novel elements. One of them is the Strange Photos, which act as a collectible of sorts.

PostsInitially, you'll probably think that these are tethered to some elaborate new puzzle. Especially since they have cryptic numbers written on their backs. But as far as we can tell, that isn't the case. While they are a pain to find, they are genuinely just a collectible. You do get a trophy for your trouble, at least. This guide will make hunting them all down far less painful.
Where To Find Every Strange Photo
One of the awkward elements of the Strange Photos is that, despite being numbered, the order you find them in is all out of sorts. Most areas have two photos. This is roughly the order you will encounter them in:
- 1 and 6 in the first section of East South Vale.
- 4 and 7 are in the Wood Side Apartments.
- 11 and 16 are in the Blue Creek Apartments.
- 5, 8, 12, 14, and 20 are all found in the section of South Vale that follows the Blue Creek Apartments (starting in West South Vale).
- 9 and 18 are in Brookhaven Hospital.
- 2 and 13 are in the otherworld version of Brookhaven Hospital.
- 17 is in the Historical Society.
- 15 and 24 are in Toluca Prison.
- 3 and 19 are in the Labyrinth.
- 24 is found on the pierbefore you get into the rowboat to head to the Lakeview Hotel.
- 21, 22, 25, and 26 are all found in the Lakeview Hotel.
Make sure you don't leave an area without finding the Strange Photos first. Many of these areas become inaccessible once you leave them.
If you are struggling to locate a specific photo, we have the location of all the Strange Photos listed in the table below. It isn't a bad idea to cross-reference the section above, which lists where you will find each photo, and make sure you have every photo you are supposed to find in that area before you move on to the next one.
