Since the Blade Runners are the only leg equipment available, they are essentially a permanent upgrade for your character, letting you move faster and jump higher at all times. Below, we'll take a look at how to unlock and craft the Blade Runners.

How To Unlock The Blade Runners

The Blade Runners are unlocked through the Quartz research tree in the MAM. This tree is unlocked the first time you find Quartz. You will need to unlock the following nodes before the Blade Runners research becomes available.

  1. Quartz - 10 Raw Quartz
  2. Silica - 20 Raw Quartz

To complete the Blade Runners research, you will then need to spend 50 Silica and 10 Modular Frames at the MAM. Once the research is complete, head over to the Equipment Workshop and you can craft the Blade Runners using the following materials.

  • 20x Silica
  • 3x Modular Frame
  • 3x Rotor

You'll need to complete at least the Tier 2 Milestone Part Assembly to unlock the ability to craft Modular Frames and Rotors, but other than that there are no other progression requirements for getting the Blade Runners.

You need 72 Raw Quartz in total to research and craft the Blade Runners, which means you'll need to either find several small clusters of Quartz or mine straight from a node. There are only a few Quartz nodes in the world, but you should be able to find them near each of the four starting locations.

Make use of the Scanner to find Quartz nodes, available after unlocking the first Quartz research node.
