Geoff Keighley Confirms Sega Will Be At Summer Game Fest, And Everyone Is Getting Their Hopes Up For More Sonic
The Summer Game Fest live show is just a day away, so speculation is running rampant. Rumours and so-called leaks are everywhere, as everyone wants to know what games are getting trailers at the show. Now, the big man himself, Geoff Keighley, has given us a good idea of what games could make the cut.
Responding to a post from Sega, Keighley says, "See you Friday". That pretty much confirms that the company will have a presence at Summer Game Fest this year, and predictions are coming in - many of them from hopeful Sonic fans.
What Games Will Sega Show Off At Summer Game Fest?
Judging from the replies, it seems like Sonic fans are reading the most into this. They will be hoping to see Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition finally revealed after all of the leaks. Right now, it just looks like it will throw all of the updates and DLC into a single package, so it's not too exciting, but it would be something.
Of course, many will hope that a brand new Sonic game is announced, too. We haven't had a new platformer since Sonic X Shadow: Generations in 2024, and even that was just a short campaign bolted onto a remaster of Sonic Generations. However, if we're getting a re-release of Frontiers, we're probably not getting another 3D platformer anytime soon. It is possible that one could be teased for next year, but if that is the case, I wouldn't expect to see too much.
The announcement on every Sonic fan's mind, though, is a possible Sonic Adventure re-release. A previous leak that has since proven accurate with other claims stated that a remake of the Sonic Adventure games was in the works, but this has yet to materialise. Anything that confirms its existence would steal the show.

Like a Dragon could easily get a new game announcement, given the rate at which they get released. At the very least, we can expect a release date for Stranger Than Heaven, as right now, that's got a release window of later this year or early next year.
Then, there's Persona. Persona 4 Revival just got an age rating, so that could be shown off tomorrow. Coinciding with this, we could finally get a Persona 6 reveal, since there have been a bunch of leaks lately. It's been so long after Persona 5, after all, so it's time to reveal the next era.

While that would normally be a little out of left field, a recent leak did actually suggest it could feature at a showcase. There have also been murmurs about us finally getting a new Crazy Taxi, so that'll be one to keep an eye out for.
Whatever the case, we'll find out for sure tomorrow. Summer Game Fest starts at 2pm PST / 10pm BST.
